Granted, this was regarding the latest gen Viper, but I talked to several journalists and drivers who have hustled the previous ZR1 and the new Viper on a race track, and none of them believe the Motor Trend comparo at Laguna Seca was legit. All have said the Viper is a much faster car and they blame the outcome on a combination of Randy Probst's ability behind the wheel and GM sending doctored cars with higher HP (as seen by Edmunds on the dyno). Even so, the Viper is much more exclusive and more hand built. I would still have a hard time justifying a used Viper over the other cars suggested in this thread.

Around here 9 out of 10 Granturismo's I see are driven by Chaldean's. The car is dead sexy, I don't care what color it is. Please don't compare the original QP's reliability to the later cars.

Wow, I had no idea you could get the Maserati for 50k now. That would be an awesome choice, IMO, but I know nothing about what it takes to maintain one. After reading many peoples build threads, Ive come to the opinion that the FF GTM is shit and can't be built for 50k. Don't do it. Seems like half the people that set out to build one end up switching to the Superlite SLC and have nothing but great things to say about it. It's extremely fast, but over your price range.

I think it was just a special knuckle, later copied on GM cars as the HiPer Strut.

It's because over time we compile statistics on how people die in accidents and find ways to make it safer. I realize we grew up in a different time, but I also realize that I would feel awful if I watched my child die while sitting next to me due to my on negligence.

I bought a Samsung GS4 on Black Friday and immediately noticed a huge difference in picture quality between my old phone. So far I have been impressed with how well it takes pictures, and on a recent trip I played with the panoramic function. I have an Equinox and it's been good. A few small things bug me but haven't had many issues. Only major problem is the chain driving the water pump broke and the car overheated.

I like how they partially camouflaged the appendage with a clever paint scheme too, but it looks to be one of the more elegant interpretations of the new rule.

Looks to me like most is of the teams probably had certain portions of the design frozen by the time this rule was introduced, so they slapped the appendage on to meet the minimum requirement. The Force India one is the worst.
