    F/S or trade?

Where are you located? I would like to take a look at the truck. I have a 90 CRX Si that is very very clean that I'm looking to get rid of to buy a truck. Let me know if you have any interest.
  5. Ive got 2 sets of subs I'd definitely be willing to trade. I have 2 10" Pioneer 350 watt subs in an MTX enclosed box and I also have 2 12" JL Audio 12w6's in a custom built to specs box. (if you were interested in the JL's I might need a few dollars too) Let me know if you have any interest!
  6. I'd be interested in come out and take a look at them. Let me know where you're located. Thanks.
  7. Hey, I dont know about trading it for another cam, if I can make it work that's what I want to do. If not, then I need to find another one. Is there some kind of formula i could conjer up to check the theoretical clearance with 1.90 valves? That setup does sound nice! I hope my #'s will show up when everything is said and done!
  8. Ok... my dad was feeling generous this Christmas and decided to get me some stuff for the Mustang. Ford 30# injectors, 75mm mas air, 255 lph fuel pump, and fords X-303 cam. My question is, with the .542 lift and 224 duration when I get a new set of heads, am I going to need new pistons? I really wanted to go with the TFS twisted wedge heads, but I think the 2.20 valve size is going to be too big. If I went with different heads with 1.90 valves would it work? Or am I going to have to put this together and check the clearance as I go? Please let me know! Thanks tongue.gif
  9. Could someone help me find the flowcharts for a few different heads... Trick Flow Twisted Wedge, Edelbrock Performer RPM's, AFR 165's and 185's. Also, if I read correctly, you can still use the stock pistons with the Trick Flow Twisted Wedge 2.02 valves with up to a 224 @ .050" duration and .540 lift... is that correct? And if so, what would realllly be pushin it? Whats safe, and what's not? Thanks
  10. They are actually a new set for $1000 and the cam and lifter set for $150
  11. I was looking on Ebay and came across the Edelbrock Performer RPM heads and camshaft . I got the #'s on them and they seem like a pretty good setup especially with me keeping my stock bottom end. The heads come with 1.90/1.60 valves and the cam is 224/234 duration and 496/520 lift. Has anyone every used any of the Performer RPM products or maybe heard anything about them? I'm just looking for some feedback. Thanks!
  12. I guess I should have also said that these are goals for an everyday driven street car. My ultimate goal is to get into the 11's however that may be. I don't have a set way to get there yet, I'm kinda just throwing around ideas in my head. Honestly, I would love to hit 11's all motor but I don't want to get into raising compression due to the fact that in the end I might want to go boosted afterall. Thank you to everyone who has thrown in some input! Especially RL who has given me great info time after time. I need to come out some time and meet you guys and talk about this stuff in person... it would be a hell of a lot easier! lol Thanks again.
  13. My question to everyone is, could I go mid to high 11's with the right setup and my stock 302 block and stock internals? If so, what kind of setup would you suggest to do this? Also, this is the setup I was contemplating as these parts are readily available to me for good prices... would I be able to hit the 11's? ported and polished FRPP Z Heads with 1.94 1.60 valves, 1.7 RR, e-303 cam, ported and polished cobra intake, 70mm tb, 73mm mas air with 30# inj, BBK CAI, 1 5/8 long tubes, o/r h-pipe, flowmaster catbacks, underdrive pulleys, 3.73, and novi 1000 pulleyed for 9lbs..... anything I'm missing? would this setup be capable of 11's? Please let me know and thanks for all your help! Another question... if a set of heads has a reccomended valve size, can you still use different sized valves, and can they be smaller then the reccomended size? For example, in the Ford Racing catalog the Z heads have a reccomended valve size of 2.02, 1.64... could I used 1.94, 1.60 instead without problems?
  14. I know everyone will have their own personal opinions about this, but I was wondering what everyone thinks the best STREETABLE intake/head/cam setup is for a 5.0 is. I will be using stock pistons so valve clearance is a factor. If you could... include examples of cars that used the setup and times they ran. Thanks!
  15. What did you run with that setup? Thanks for the help!
  16. Ok, a few more questions. What is the stock valve size on a 93 Mustang GT? And, if I went with the FRPP Z heads with 1.90 or 1.94 valves and the FRPP e303 cam, should I have enough clearance?
  17. I'm looking to buy a new set of heads for my 93 Mustang GT, and was wondering if anyone knows what the largest valve size you can use with stock pistons is? Please let me know. Thanks.
  18. I have the basic OEM clutch cable assembly in my car now, so would converting to an adjustable clutch cable assembly in my 5.0 let me adjust the clutch pedal pressure, and has anyone ever done this before?
  19. Ok... I have a few questions.. 1) Since ive been researching online about my Mustang, I've realized that in 93 the pistons are different then in the other foxbodys. The hyperpeutic material is said to break down a lot quicker then the pistons in pre 93 cars... my question to you guys is, when is too much for these pistons? What temp. do they begin to melt and at what HP level do they absolutely need to be replaced? 2) Since I'm pretty new to the domestic side of things, and don't know too much about cars all together, I need some help selecting a few parts. I am looking to pick up a set of heads but dont know the advantages of the different sets out there. I know I can pick up GT40 iron heads for about 500 beans and I also know they weigh about 20 lbs more then an aluminum set, but what other advantages do aluminum heads have? What are they best heads out on the market at the moment? Do most of the heads for sale come complete, or bare? If they come bare, what all do I need to buy to complete them? I have a basic idea, but if I could get a complete list from someone who really knows what they're doing that would be great. 3) As far as cams go... what do I want to look for in the #'s? I know I need a cam that will be streetable and leave me with a decent idle, but that's pretty much all I know. 4)Is there a certain way you are supossed to match up heads, cams, intakes, etc? Or do you just find out from some good ol fasion R&D? If there is a special way to match up, could someone please explain? 5)When do I need to upgrade fuel and ignition? How much fuel is too much, and which ignition systems should I check out? 6)What type of fuel management and engine control units are out there for the fox bodys? Im used to Apex S-AFC's and DSM link's and the likes... haven't heard too much for the 5.0's. 7)Last but not least, with questions 1-6 in mind, I plan on turboing the Stang in the future and would like everything I do up untill that point to be able to compliment some boost nicely. I know I probably should've put this first, but If you read this far I know you're probably really interested in helpin me out! Sorry for the long post and any info you guys can throw at me would help me tremendously! This is my first real domestic project and I'm getting head over heels excited and I'm trying to learn as much as I possibly can! Thanks!
  20. When is the exact date for the swap meet this year? I went a few years ago and bought my first car 66 Mustang 206 6 cyl... Is there a sight for it anywhere? Thanks
  21. First of all... i have a 93 GT. Second of all... I would be getting 31 spline axels, 3.73 gears and a 5 lug conversion. All I really need to know is if it would bolt up in the Stang, and if it's a good thing to do.
  22. Ok... I was just looking around on Ebay and happened to come upon this... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2441916828&category=33731 Would this be a good buy? Would it be worth it since its still the 8.8"? I would still be getting the 31 Spline axles, 3.73 gears, and 5 lugs, but is it worth it to swap the whole thing? Also, could I swap the brakes for discs before I put it on the car? And how much custom work would need to be done to get this to mate up properly? Thanks! Flame me for this one, but are the 5.0's posi traction or not?
  23. Could someone direct me to some step by step intstructions for installing Cobra upper and lower intake manifolds on a 93 5.0? Also, how much can i port them out without having issues with cracking etc.? Let me know. Thanks!
  24. Well... if the tranny and the rear end are gonna take a dump... what are the best and cheapest(but most proven) parts to replace or upgrade to?
  25. My goals for the car is mid to upper 400's in the HP and TQ figures and to run high 11's on drag radials and full interior. Pretty much... i'm lookin to become Brian Rigsby, if that helps any.
