I attended and it was a nice gathering and would like to to thank Clay and the peep's that made this possible.

I am not a coffee drinker, but I have a free Saturday tomorrow am, so I am planning to attend.

My first car was cool as he'll. I had it through college and sold it in 1994. I should have kept it and made it a restoration project but was young and stupid. I miss her to this day.

Tim,
Yes, you should have kept it.

My .02 too low for a DD, but I like the rims.

cheap and good machine work never go together, I know M&M in Delaware does great work.
I agree, +1 for M&M.

Nice picture of the Bay. I travel to Walnut Creek(a little north of San Fran) occasionally for work. That is a nice area. There is a car scene in Walnut Creek, of course it is it on the high end side, Ferrari's etc.

One of my college friends lives there and I been there a few times. His family used to own the golf course there, aka free golf. A small town with an interesting name...

To take this thought a step further, I would also consider working on only certain types of cars or doing certain types of work that you could specialize in and therefore charge a premium. There will always be people that want repairs done for cheap. However, if you can become known as the local expert in some area, you can charge a premium for that and not only control the work you do, but charge a premium for it. Consider the unique knowledge and expertise you and your Dad have, and see if you can leverage that.
I agree, that is why I work on 'fun' classics.

If I was you, I would get it cleaned up and start learning to play. I just started to learn a few weeks ago and loving it. My kids are taking guitar lessons and I am learning from them. We bought an acoustic Washburn.

Vinny,
Yes, I believe there is still a need for the small backyard mechanic for the smaller jobs. Keep it a hobby and enjoy the few extra dollars you pull in. You can pick and chose jobs, based on the difficulty level.
If I can't tackle something, I have two hobbyist near me that helps me out. One of them is a retired Toyota master mechanic. He does some side jobs for folks and charges much less than the the big shops and does quite well for his hobby. I work on older classics as a hobby for people near by me and helps pays for my auto hobby.

Nice truck, how many miles are on it?

Interesting alternative. I have been pricing plows thinking they are in the 2k range, boy I was surprised to see how much the Meyer/Boss brands are.

Sam/Erik,
I am near Galena/New Albany, the property is 4 miles north of New Albany on 605. I am looking for a better option, I have been driving my tractor a mile down the road to the other property and plowing with it.

My wife is an attorney and this is a part of her practice. If you have specific questions, I can provide you her contact information.

Vinny,
I have a compact diesel 4 wheel drive tractor(Yanmar 1610D) with a 5 foot bucket on a front end loader and a 5 foot rear blade. My driveway is around 260 feet long. This set up was one of the best investments I ever made. I bought a whole shipping container of them 10 years ago from Japan. I have been using this set up for the last 10 years, and the similar JD would have cost 2x more than I have in my setup. However, since we have a commercial property I will be looking for a newer truck with a plow set up for next year.
Sam,
Do you have any accounts out my way?
