  1. It would depend, how old are your kids. If you kids are out of the house(college) it would make it easier. If your kids are younger I would have a hard time working though hours now since my kids are 10 and 9. This is a tuff call, you need to see you try it on a a trial basis or see if it could be one week one nights, the next week days.
  2. definately not, but if i dump 6k into my car and someone hits me, i expect to get my 6k back....my insurance company covers aftermarket parts, so why wouldnt i have it reappraised?

That is why you have specialty car insurance, other than that it is a daily driver from an ins co point of view.

  3. +1, do it and stuff sometype of a v8 in it. You own your business, so could be a 'company' vehicle. There are so many camaros, mustangs etc, I like seeing different stuff like Eric's RX7, someday Sam's bimmer. I was checking ebay the other day, and someone had a Volvo wagon with a 302 in it, that would rock.
  4. I support all types of special needs type of people, but this guy is a tool. Half of the time I missed the calls too. You go to Ohio stadium for the experience of the game and usually you are with a buddy so you dont missed any of the action during the game. If you want to 'really' watch the game, stay at home and watch on the big screen or at a bar. I cant believe someone is suing OSU for this.
  5. We bought our land and hired Gladman's Builders to build our house. They are a small custom builder that has been building houses over 30 years. They did a great job and we were able to build a bigger house than we could be bought in suburbia. We have been in our house for 14 years now. Another builder we looked at was Gossing Construction, they are another small builder that does outstanding work and they are in the Parade of Homes this year.

  6. How much is the guy asking for the 81 vette? It might be possible he/she is asking much less than 8K. Remember cash talks, there are a few people out that dont keep on market pricing. If you are going to pass, please pm the details where the car is located and/or the phone number for it.
  7. As a hobby, I buy and sell stringrays. Depending where the car is, I could go with you.

Here is what you need to know.

    Where do they rust?

Check the frame closely, especially on the rear kickups right before the rear tires and on the windshield frame. Bring a tape measure and measure the wheelbase on each side.

What should they cost assuming non SHOW quality. its a project

Stringrays have went up in prices, expect a 81 project one to be anywhere from $8 to 12K. Number matching engine and the VIN will be on the 12K side.

What motor should be in it.

For 81, there was only one engine option, the L-81 which was 190 horsepower.

What other things are known to fail.

Get the best looking complete car you can find, vette parts are not cheap.

On a side note, Like Miller said, I know where a 73 454 vette(matching numbers with 76000 miles) is for sell and it is a deal at $19500 located near Galena. No, it is not one mine.

  8. The question is your S10 a daily driver, if you have another vehicle, the best bang is to drop a V8 in it. If that is not possible at this time, do the exhaust, cai and swap the rear end gears if it is not at least a 3:73.
  9. I would like like to thank Doc for his open house. It was an excellent time and a nice gathering to meet other CR members. I also would like to thanks the sponsors too. SLo Motion, if you do this type of thing again, I will be bring the 87 vette to be dyno'd so we can see what 4 cylinder cars have more horsepower than it.
