    Next autox Oct.8

I went today and had a good time. I drove the 87 vette and saw a few others participating in their C4s. I loved the guy that was running a CT-R, it had some after market exhaust that sounded like a B&B. There was no-one there with a Fox body mustang. I was speaking to a guy that a 78-80 Malibu that was tricked out. The Malibu had a small block 406 with a 6 speed and was clean. I might have to enter a Auto x next year, I dont know if I would drive the C4 or the fox body. How did the CR participates do?

    What do you do?

Network Engineer for a large wireless company.
  3. Sorry, I didnt keep track of the lap times, but I can tell you I will be going back to see more NASA races.
  4. Did anyone go? I was not expecting much, but in turn loved it. I took my boy with me on Saturday. When we arrived after 1:00pm, there was some practice laps with some Z06s, 911s, etc. This was cool. The first race was American Iron, which was Ford vs Chevy. This was an incrediable race, the Mustangs vs the Camaros. There was a lot of Fox bodys and newer mustangs. There were Camaros/Firebirds and a couple of older 91 type of Camaros. I didnt care who won, it was heaven, real V8 cars racing. If you wanted to know it was a mustang. The next race was FFR Spec Challenge, yes Factory Five Racing, these are the Cobra's. This was incrediable. I spoke to a few of the racers, this is real affordable racing. All of these Cobra's are built and retain the 87 to 93 Mustang drive train and it has to be stock. Most of these cars were under $18K done, yes your labor is free I admit I was sad that SCCA moved their event, but I have been introduced to NASA and this seems to be REAL racing for the average guy and I thinking about setting one of my cars for this. Oh by the way, there was a lot of Honda's, etc racing too.

    IPS Events

Is car back together? I was at IPS yesterday and saw your car there.
  6. My brother works at Honda and hooked me up with tickets for Saturday. I am planning to drive one of the vettes to the event after the kid's soccer games in the morning.
  7. I would also like to thank Derek. He just set me up on a set of new tires for my daily driver (Z-71 pickup). He quoted me a great price and the service at his shop was excellent.
  8. I am not going. I have not went for the last two years. I think it is little expensive to change $10 per a person to look at his cars. Dont get me wrong, they are nice, but to charge $10 per a person that is a little steep for a cruise in. Bud's in St Mary's Ohio has the same type of deal and it is free.
  9. Buy a 2 post car lift and ask the wife to wash my clothes:)
  10. I am waiting for you to sell the Cobra R wheels.... Another note, what was the deal about two weeks ago on Sunday night, send me a PM on that topic if you want?
  11. Let's see some pictures of the P1800. I am pondering about getting one. My wife has a 850 and I have several chevy's and a ford, P1800 would be something different.
  12. We do sandblasting. We charge $1.00 per a minute with a 30 minute minimum. A frame can take from 30 to 90 minutes. We will need to see the frame for a quote.
  13. You want a 200R4, because this almost a easy swap about the same size as a T350. The 700R4 is actually a bigger transmission and you will need to do some drive shaft modifications.
  14. My buddy has the same truck(with the 327) as you and he replaced the tranny with a 200R4 and has added disc brakes
  15. Yes he can. My wife was once citied for a muffler violation. Long story short, she has friends in the right places. She went to court and knew the judge and he reduced the speeding to a muffler violation, thus no points on her license. This happened 15 year while she was in law school.
  16. I work on my cars, except for the Volvo. I do paint, body work and mechanical. I will farm out transmission rebuilds and machine shop work.
  17. If this guy is a 'real' vette guy, he will not be around the weekend of August 25. August 25th is the weekend for Corvettes at Carlisle.
  18. I am on attending but with the 87 vette. I dont have the fender painted yet on the 69.
  19. There was a Burger Chef in Delaware on Sandusky Street. It was torn down around 30 years ago and KYC reappeared in the same spot.
  20. I agree the post above if you have spent $4000 on body work, you went to the wrong shop. I got my 1st car at 16 and worked with my dad and learn body work and already know mechanical work from living on the farm. It is a great experience to learn from a family member, especially when your dad worked for PPG and had all the body shop classes. By, the way is that a vette your garage(from your webpage)? What is the history on it?
  21. Not really, Does Honda make a SS or a WS6? Does Honda make a public automobile that has over 300 horsepower(maybe the NSX, but that is not a muscle car, it is an exotic)? A musclecar is something that has a lot of horsepower stock from the factory when compared to the rest of the model line. The only thing we today have close to musclecars are the Camaro SS/Trans Am WS6, the Grand Nationals and the Cobras. I am not saying that some of the Honda's will not be collectable. The Honda Civic SI's will be a collectable car in the future, but that will a long time from now and if there are any that are left that are not ragged out, hell by then you might need to restore the SI. The rest of the Hondas are nice drivers and then when you get home, go out in your muscle car. Before I get flamed, I dont consider my mustang a muscle car either. It is not a Cobra. My mustang might be collectable, but not a musclecar.
