  7. And fat.. eat healthy fats. I eat walnuts, macadamia nuts and almonds just about every day, plus use olive oil on everything. the perfect calorie break down would be... 40% carbs - all from vegies and fruits 30% protein 30% fat For the nay-sayers of eating a healthy lifestyle.. have you ever eaten this way? I feel GREAT everyday. Always have energy and ready to go. I can def tell a difference on the weekend when I have pizza, chips, etc of my energy level and just overall feeling.
  8. Nutrional-wise.. grains have little. They are poor sources of vitamins and minerals, also they yield a high glycemic load. Comparing calorie to calorie, whole grains are lousy for fiber as well. a 1,000 calorie serving of fruits/vegetables can have 2-7 times as much fiber as the same amount of whole grains. And eat more vegetables, not fruit since that's mostly sugar
  9. drink cab.. yes. eat grains.. no My diet now consists of . vegetables, grass fed beef, natural chicken/pork, nuts, fruit. cheat on weekend
  10. careful on deadlift.. always use proper form.. Here are a few tips. set-up - approach bar feed directly under hips, toes pointed out slightly grip on the outside of hips shins touch the bar chest up.. as high as you can back tight, good lumbar and thoracic curve shoulders will be slightly ahead of bar, scupula will be directly over bar the pull - keep bar close to body, drag bar up legs torso angle the same until bar reaches knee. SHOULDERS AND HIPS RAISE THE SAME RATE if hips come up first.. all lower back once bar passes knees.. hips extend

  12. I'll email you details/ideas tomorrow. PM me where you are staying and budget.
  13. to be honest about the views... i usually go with the mountain view every time we've been out to maui. The only time we are in the room is to sleep, eat breakfast/lunch and get ready to go out at night.. That's just my personal preference, unless you like to sit on the balcony in the morning with some coffee/beer/mai tai and watch the ocean.
  14. Yes, it's available... pricing for the different views are in my last post Arrive on Aug 27th, leave on Sep 3. That's usually when we always go to celebrate our anniv (aug 30th) and my b-day (sep 2). Last year, our flights were around 650 each. This was with US air who we have used 4 times. It has 1 stop in phoenix which is nice, breaks the flight up almost in half. The most we have paid has been around 750 each and we've been to maui every year since 2004.

  19. Here's a great site to show how much putting extra and one/multiple lump sums affects the term of a mortgage... http://www.mortgage-x.com/calculators/extra_payment_calculator.asp We refi'd 3 years ago at 15 years and pay quite a bit extra a month.. Hoping to be paid off in 5-6 years.
  20. Do CrossFit. Eat a paleo diet.. You'll lose weight and get strong. the basics---- Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense.
