  1. Not for public consumption. Call me!
  2. Yes, I am now unemployed! 20 years of management experience: 12 years managing private (country) clubs. 8 years managing production (automotive dealership). B.S. Management OSU I'm looking to change career paths. Minumum salary req. $50-60k If anyone has any contacts, in any field, please let me know. Mike
  3. My absolute dream car! The entire car is pure and simple, functional artwork. For those of you who are too young to know about this car, Please do yourself a favor and do a bit of research. It was not built to be a pretty cruiser. It was built to rule the race track! It's big! It stands out in a crowd, and it OWNED ALL for the short time that it was allowed on the track!
  4. I sold my 2 sets about a year ago. I do have a buttload of various drum parts such as bass, tom, and snare shells, cymbal stand parts, sticks , and other assorted junk. You want it, I'll give it all to you. Just PM me and I'll arrange a pick-up time. My wife'll probably blow me for getting it out of the basement! Mike
  5. Um, welcome to 7 posts ago in this thread! Hence the apology?! graemlins/nutkick.gif

  8. Yes but yours is slow tongue.gif I don't remember racing you, and I certainly don't remember any dyno sheets drawn in crayon for you to read, so you would know this how?
  9. Dammit man, read your PM's!
  10. I drive through New Rome at least twice a day, every day, and haven't seen a car pulled over in at least 8 months!
  11. I'm heading home from work in the FD about 6:15 last night, west on 270 'tween 315 and Sawmill, when a black car pulls up next to me. At first I thought it was a riced out Civic due to the fender and rear quarter panel ducts, side skirts, vinyl stripes, big M POWER logo down the side. WAIT, M Power?? I drop back about 10 feet and note the clear tail lights, the rear diffuser, an expensive looking park bench wing, and M3 logo on the back. Hmmmmm, 3 series BMW....M3....well?? I slowly get back up even with him, and wait to see if he wants to have a go. Nope. Has anyone seen this car? Should I have been afraid??
  12. I had 104k on my original engine, when I pulled it to race-port it, still running like a champ. A full rebuild and polished race-porting on a FD motor is $3400, done here in town at the RX7Store. A good set of used stock twins run $300-$500, and are reliably good to 15psi, above that and the life shortens. Add 1300cc secondary injectors, fuel pump, Fuel pressure regulator, $800 Front mount intercooler, intake, exhaust, and Apexi PFC to control it all. That'll end up about $8000 retail (without labor) for approx 375-400 RWHP depending on boost.

It is extremely common for cars to be broken into while parked in repair facility lots. Often times the theives will make recon runs through Dealership/Repair Shop/Autobody back lots and return late at night knowing the cars will still be there, with little to no security other than a 8 foot high fence. It is the consumer's responsibility to remove any and all items of value from the vehicle, and then you actually sign off giving the facility no culpable responsibility for items left in, or stolen from, your car. If you've ever taken the time to read the service order, or key drop form, you'd know that. Mike

  15. 1. The wiper switches are notoriously prone to failure. Search eBay or Partstrader. 2. See line one, although not as common. 3. If you can still hear the motor running, then you just need to replace the mast. See eBay. 4. Rack, tie-rod ends, blah, whatever. You'll be re-doing the suspension for racing anyhow.
  16. He speaks the truth. graemlins/nonono.gif
  17. Damn dude, what crawled up your ass?? As I(Service Director at a car dealership)see it, his statement would be only more correct if he said "possibly" the alternator. Obvious, but not incorrect. The logical progression is after an inspection of the battery cables and connections, and the load test of the battery, is an inspection of the fusible link between the alt. and starter to make sure the connections are clean and tight, and the wire is not "open". Then a charge test to see if the alternator's amperage and voltage output are in spec, and also if the diode pattern is good. Most of the testers used at the auto parts starts are ARBST testers, which also measure the starter's amperage draw. If all these tests are passed, then I would recommend seeing a "trained" technician. Come back tomorrow and I'll teach you humility!
  18. Check your battery cables as well. If there has been any battery acid or corrosion build up on the terminal end due to a leak, you could have damage inside the cable that you cannot see thus giving a poor connection.
  19. I believe they are pull off, not screw off. I know the 95 and prior models are not screwed on and it takes quite a bit of force to remove. The assumption are that they are all the same. I will confirm this info in the morning.
  20. CODE 23 Trouble Code 23 indicates that the Manifold Air Temperature sensor is reporting abnormally low readings. When the air is cold, the thermistor in the sensor has a high resistance, which falls as the air charge warms. Low readings thus indicate a possible bad sensor or open in the MAT circuit. The conditions for setting this code are: • MAT reading is < -40 deg F NOTE: A default MAT value indicating 82 deg F is used while Code 23 is present. Typical thermistor resistance values are: deg F deg C resistance in ohms 210 100 185 160 70 450 100 38 1,800 70 20 3,400 40 4 7,500 20 -7 13,500 0 -18 25,000 -40 -40 100,000+ Typical causes for this code include: 1) Defective MAT sensor 2) Open sensor ground circuit 3) Dirty or corroded connection at MAT and/or ECM 4) Open circuit between the ECM and the MAT sensor 5) Defective ECM
  21. Ya really should buy one. You will want to retorque at least a couple of times after heat cycling.
