your 60 ft should be at least mid 1.4s whats going on with the suspension. is it all stock, how are your front and rear shocks adj. ive seen thousands of stangs that hook evan without the ballast weight. does the th400 have a trans brake to build boost against, where is your 2 step. what boost at launch. great times but i think there is a 9 sec pass in that thing with the right 60ft.

i say we shot the ones with that much money and split it up. amongst all of us. i could use a few more drag cars and a house with 2.5 car garage!
-
I have went 127 1/8th and I steel feel slow. Looking to go mid 130s
-
Good job on the 9.sec pass.

when is the dragway 42 rental? i may be able to go to that one. its always the hard one to do cause its so far and it takes so much time to load up in the morning and head out.

if cr had any real racers i wouldent have to find 10 non members with fast cars just to have a track day. seriously over 2000 members and u supposed racers cant find 90 people to race a track rental. thats bs. sorry wagner i know u race and i really do want to see you run consistant 10.50s but i honestly dont think a car thats going to be drag raced often needs a overdrive, id be willing to bet that not one car in the 10.50 class has a od tranny. im just offering my opinions on what would work and work every time out.
-
yep cr= slow as hell on a 9 psi pass im still faster than most at a 10.000 139 and u know what. everyone knows better than i do. build my own chassis, check build my own engines, check build my own trannys, check do my own tunning, check do my own paint, check and nobody wants to hear good advice. everybody knows better. since they have the checkbook in hand and love to throw away their money. im poor and cant afford all the bull shit i have to go fast on a budget. ud think with out economy people would value saving money. but i guess thats not so.

I know evan with a bad tune and a bunch of problems my carb is still fast enuf to run to the 1/8th mile mark get on the brakes and run a 10.000. Wich is faster than 98% of cr and if I make a full pass the junk carb is faster than 99%.

My goal with my 01 turbo setup. Is keep air keep sway bar run dual disk clutch to keep street daily driver and run consistant 9s. About 700 to 750 whp. If it don't go 9s I'm selling it..
-
That's the new transmission going in my 89 camaro. I'm proably gona build the 370" ls motor with twin 76s and try for a 7 sec street car. ! And wagner don't forget that half the cars in the 10.5 class are former cars in the 8.90 class so their trap speed is what wins the race.

Here u go full swap kit just sitting in steves car.

If he has goals of sustained highway use yes don't plan on making a th400 a first choice. The cost of a gear vendors is 2000 alone and still won't change the fact that a th400 brake is 200 to 250 psi wich will build a lot of heat if he just wants to cruise arround at 45 mph cruise a lil while then I see no issue. My tranny temps never got over 185 driving all over grovecity 4 or 5 pulls 3 or 4 pulls on the dyno and my cooler is in the bed and with the cooling fan off. However highway at 60mph is a huge nono. Kills pump and centersupport. Supposidly hughes has scarf cut teflon sealing rings wich are supposed to make that problem go away. I ordered some from them but they haven't came in yet. All I know is I've went 8s for 4 yrs 9s for 2 yrs and 11s and 10s for 5yrs all on the same th400 with a hipsters brake. And I've driven all over but at 55 and below and the furthest I've went is deercreek. But that was mostly cause I hate sitting in my truck very cramped and seats suck plastic jegs buckets. And I'm not shure that all steves trans temp issues are just cause its a th400. Could be just the jegs converter not having a turbo specific stator or tranny cooler location. Mine is hard pressed to ever see 190 deg track or street.

no transbrake is made for street use period no automatic is gona like 240psi of pressure for long periords of time. were talking racing wich is what u want a tranny that can hold 1000hp with ease and a brake to launch consistant. not everyone wants to spend 3000 on just a tranny then have to buy controllers for it or many other supporting parts. th400 = cheapest for racing, outside a powerglide but they are more money and often dont like a heavy car. so how much is a rpm level what ever it is? i bet its more than a free th400 with a brake and drum upgrade.
-
and if you can get any more th400s im looking for a spare good core to build for the s10. i gave steve my only other th400 spare trans.
-
i can build your th400 with a brake just like steves. and he went 10.29 with bone stock rear arms, shocks, short block, just 317 heads unported a cam and a ky turbo truck manifold crossover and 3.5' dp at almost 15psi. if your wanting easy 10.50s tune id just copy what steve did ad some lower arms, shocks, and a 9" for reliability and u could go 10.50s for the rest of its life if you wanted. the 4l80s and 4l60s 2004rs are great overdrives when you put 3000 dollars into them. but if your goals are for a fast and consistant drag car than those options are not for you. did you follow marks vette had a few diff od trannys and u know what he ended up with and has had no issues, a th400. if you can get the tranny for free thats a hell of a start, for a drag app u need a drum setup for the hp 67 to 69 model. this is by far the week link the stock sprag. for a brake you want a hipsters, or hughes, the only down fall to the tci and some others is you dont have rev in the rev location you have to switch to neutral and hold the brake button for reverse. i know for shure the hipsters and hughes have great and normal reverse. and if you have a good aftermarket 3 speed shifter like a pro stick or quarter stick you dont have to have a rev pattern shifter its just pref but you can still shift. mine is a forward pattern shifter and ive used it for years. you will need the adaptor for the crank a flat flexplate and if you want a ultra bell. this requires you to install a taperd bolt into the rear cover as the stock ones hit the bellhousing. i would not recomend the th350 only because they are a little more expensive to build than a th400 and are easier to break.

ahh ok he found someone then. we just cant use mine cause it will be getting setup for the ac kit that ill be running and the truck manifold kit will be diffrent.
