Something to consider; are you furthering your education simply because the opportunity is there? Or is an MBA something you consider essential to your career goals? It might end up being a lot of work for naught if an MBA isn't going to earn you any more money in your lifetime, whether through irrelevance to your career field or whether you'd be just as well off in terms of getting jobs and salaries you want without the degree. Just some food for thought, and basically the questions my dad asked me when I was considering grad school. Decided it wasn't for me at this particular time in my life.

Pretty much all I watch on TV is live sports. As long as that's the only way to get it in good HD, they'll keep me suckling at the cable teat.

Long story short, I'm sick of TWC charging me for renting their crappy, constantly needing a reboot and occasional replacement DVR. I'd rather just buy myself a good one. Anyone done this? What cable box/DVR do you have and what do you recommend? Does TWC hassle you at all about it, and are there compatibility considerations? Newegg isn't as easy to navigate in this regard as for my usual purchases. Also looking to do the same for a cable modem, but that'll be a bit easier to research.

I've not been married nor have I proposed nor have I given either much thought, however, I've heard a couple rules that I plan to follow if/when I do find the "one". 1) Spend 2-3 months gross pay on the ring. 2) THAT you're popping the question should not be a surprise, WHEN you're popping it should be the surprise. Take her ring shopping. She should know that you plan to ask her to marry you, but the mystery should be in the timing and the ring. She knows your financial situation, and she can probably more effectively guide you to the price range she expects given your situation. You're going to spend the rest of your lives making financial decisions together, why should the ring purchase be any different? Think of it as training for your future life. EDIT: Don't listen to what she says when you're ring shopping. Watch her eyes, see where they go in the cases, see what settings or cuts or colors make her eyes light up.
