  1. Do I look like Kissinger? Mid.Size!
  2. You corrected incorrectly: Also, we have numbers, since the Appalachian is based ont he Scorpio. Front Track: "Mini-truck" Mahindra: 57" Ranger: 58" S10 (I'm not calling it a Colorado): 59" So, its realy not much smaller than the US trucks. Park them side by side, and you'd never see a difference. It's smaller, but not mini.
  3. -not new -didn't get 30mpg (maybe half) -DOESN'T HAVE 350LB FT, you need to check your sources, thats an SLT and dodge didn't offer anything that made more than 310. On top of that, you don't know if that has the magnum or the cheaper/weaker 4.7. Event he RT only made 250hp and 345lb ft (15hwy mpg, btw). I gotta hand it to you, that's a hell of a truck for that money, though. Good find. Let me finish your sentence correctly: ...is going to buy a full size truck. Also, India's backroads make most of ours look like highways. Don't call it a POS until you beat the hell out if. People buying small and midsized trucks aren't.... well, they aren't you guys. The average buyer doesn't really do squat with their truck but drive it to work, and occasionally throw tools in the bed. They're not loading it up with feed, they just want to toss some crap that they got from Home Depot in the back of it. Also, Diesel was social poison in the 80's, not now. People want it, just try to find a Diesel Rabbit. I predict good sales if this passes DOT. Ben: Run your math for the 17 highway MPG that the petrol trucks are actually getting, and feed that to the good people. Gas costs $564, compared to the Diesels $350. Ouch.
  4. Mike: show me 300lb ft in a mid sized truck for less $.
  5. Nail on da head. Yes, it's ugly. I like ugly. I'm sure they're going to address the US need for cab variation. http://www.pickuptruck.com/IMAGES/stories/mahindra/perezinterview.jpg http://www.pickuptruck.com/IMAGES/2009/mahindra/mahindra2.jpg Called the Scorpio elsewhere: http://www.autopundit.com/2007/07 Why doesn't John Deere make a pickup? They'd make a killing.
  6. ... prepare to be owned: http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/11/mahindra-appalachian-diesel-pickup-arrives-in-us-next-year-dies/ Toyota and everyone, too. Time to get off your asses and made a diesel mid-size. It's Indian, so all you need to service it is a hammer and a crescent wrench. Plus, the load rating is actually a converted number from the Indian load bearing standard, which is measured in family members. This truck will drive around with over 100 people piled on it!
  7. I ram up and down this ditch a few times this weekend, and paused once to snap a foto of my wheel in the air. http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/4530/3wlwl3.jpg It was only about a foot deep and vertical on the sides (before I got there). Mostly slop with a basketball sized rock stuck in there. I just liked zig-zagging back and fourth through it in 2nd (locks it in 4x4). Never had a hint of getting stuck, and that's with shitty potenzas. It's no truck, but I'm happy with the car.
  8. Looks like you've got it down. This was a Mongoose: http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/183/vetteqk1.jpg I was spectating/crew on Friday, and worked tech on sat-sun. I highly recommend volunteering for these, if you cant run. You learn allot, no matter what you're doing.
  9. Sage wisdoms from the 90's, he was like a frickin Dr. Ruth, it turns out.
  10. Go to the boonies, find a feed shop, ask for a bail.
  11. Was the black supra still there!? It had wheels, wheels we need. Is there an MGBGT there? I saw one in the "on deck" lot 2 weeks ago. BTW, we bough a full set from them not to long ago, and they have an entry for it on their price list. They sell everything that's on their lot.
  12. Car are tools. It doesn't matter how nice your hammer is, some people just can't fuckin hit the nail.
  13. Traction control, more weight, and crap torque. I had the 86 rwd Corolla out in the blizzard, it rocked.
  14. How many posts can a repost post if a repost could post posts?
  15. Dude, look at the faces, they're totally related.
  16. TTT I'll be there Friday morning through sunday evening. Sat-Sun I'll be teching your cars.
  17. In context, that area pretty much is.
  18. Speaking from personally experience; no. no. I almost lost an EZ up to a flash storm, and have driven in the rain many times. If it's so bad that the corner workers are in danger, or can't see, then they'll pull you in.
  19. holy shit, you're a local! I'm in West Chester. I saw your post on NASA Forums, I'm going to see about getting a car.
  20. http://www.rigidracecars.com/contactus.htm This is actualyl attached to one of our vendors, and I got a quick tour of the shop while on the company dime. Well ordered shop, has welding and a full machine shop within 100ft. Run by Rob Lewis, we work with his dad (Precision Welding inc.) who does excellent work. Has anyone else heard fo this shop?
  21. I'm not entirely sure that they do refunds. Hey, srsly, what group are you in? If you're in 2, ask them if you can give (sell) your slot to some one else. I'm going to be up there, would love to run. What is it, $175?
  22. Brake less. Tire and balance are also key, andMO does have mroe fast turns. I have boild a few fluids (Trans, Steering, and Brakes) in my first days of open lapping at Beaverun, but as I got more confident with the cars grip, I used them less. Could just be the brakes, though. Mine were good and thick, and well vented. I built the heat, I'm sure, but it may not have been built fast enough (or long enough) to transfer to my fluid.
  23. No offense, but cry me a river. What's the point of having that "Ultimate driving Machine" if you've put wheels/tires on it that are useless? That whole checklist means jack squat, it's an HPDE not a race. Take it out and have fun. I open lapped a 4000lb daily driver for 3 years and turned damed respectable times because of it. -auto trans FTL Does it shift? Yes? Then run it. Shit clutch FTL -would need track pads No, it doesn't -would need brake fluid flushed and replaced with motul or super blue in the least No, it wont. What have you been reading? I used DOT3 Napa piss in my car and it would last a season, so would the pads. If you're killing brakes and need all that stuff, you need to practice your braking. If I can turn 1:50's in a 190rwhp 4000lb Ford, you can have fun and be quick in the 3. What group were you in? I may buy your spot from you if it's allowed. I'll take an 80hp AE86 out and have a good time.
  24. Except when you drift, you slow down. fayle
