It should have been the M3 vs the S2000, with everyone else on catchup. It was a great Nissan ad. Sadly, I've seen many 350Zs on the track piloted by everything from novices to instructors, they aren't that quick.

Because the more you know, the more you grow. That has to equate to some penis enlargemnt, too, right? How did an indonesian eruption effect politics in Europe? In 1815, a volcano in southern indonesia exploded, and ended up spuring more world changing events then any natural occurance in history. The volcano is Mt Tambora. Given the small size of the island that it was on, it had to be one of the worlds most prominent peaks, since it rose from sea level to 13,000ft in less then 10 miles. In 1815 it blew its top in what is still the greatest explosion ever witnessed my man, even though all those who were actualy close enough to see it died fairly quickly. The top 4000ft of the peak and much of the core of the mountain were blasted into the atmosphere. An estimated 45 cubic miles of rock was turned to ash and cast into the pacific winds. This began what would be known as the year without a summer. Mt. St Hellens blew with 10,000 time the force of our first atomic weapons. Tamboras blast was more then 100 time larger. The remaining crater is almost 5 miles across and over a mile deep. You can fit almost all of Dublin in it. http://thewoodomain.net/files/11/tambora.JPG http://www.merelyscene.com/tambora/image/wall.tambora.jpg The crater looks more akin to the Grand Canyon when looking down from the culdera wall. http://www.merelyscene.com/tambora/image/wall2.tambora.jpg http://people.uncw.edu/abramsl/Tambora-Abrams-web.jpg This event dropped the global temperature an average 3 deg, and cased "the Year Without a Summer" in europe. The closer you got the the poles, the colder it stayed. As a result agriculture throughout Europe and The Americas was devistated. Over the next year the effects spread across the globe with the winds, there were reports of brown and red snow falling in hungary and italy. The folowing winter, the canals of vencice actualy froze over. By spring they were feeling the full effect of the event. The lack of food, and moreover the Regents apathy about it was the finals straw that pushed french peasants to revolt. A young lady by the name of mary shelly, while on summer vacation with her family, found it too cold to do anything outside, so she and he siblings had a competiton as to who could write the scariest story, hers was titled "Frankenstiens Monster". The dismal conditions in northern europe cause a massive exodus of norther Europeans westward to the United States. But there was no refuge here. In the states, "The year without a summer" was more often refered to as "The year eighteen hundred and froze to death". The conditions in new england were the same as in europe, and Americans began moving west to find better conditions. In the immdiate vecinity, it wiped an entire civilation off the map and out of history. Only recently has evidence been found of, not only inhabitants, but a rather large city on the island of Sumbawa. It was all immediately vaporized. Furthermore, over 90,000+ inhabitants of neighboring islands were killed in the initial blast, and most survivors died in the folowing months. Not only did it kill all the Subawans, but it killed almost everyone they traded with, leaving no one alive who even knew they existed. This shit amazed me, so I thought I'd share. If it happened again, we'd be almost as fucked as we were back then. Nature > *

Badass model airplane gets destroyed
Science Abuse replied to wnaplay1647545503's topic in Pics and Vids
the afore mentioned real B52 crash at Fairchild in 94 Another vid of the model crash, you can see it was compounded by a heavy tailwind. more info; http://www.stukastudios.se/b52.htm http://www.mcgirt.net/RC/VIDEOS/Giant_B52/ -

follow up, more stuff: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/robert.ashley/teambananaracing/b52sitefull.jpg The plane actualy did the exact same thing that a real B52 did at an airshow a whiole back. It exceeded the degree of banking that it could hold and dropped out of the sky. You dont generate any lift when you wings are perpendicular to the ground. The limits of the real thing applay to scale models. -
indeed I did. I realy wasn't expecting 2.5mil, so I guess it didnt register. Who the hell would want 39 mustangs? I cant think of any car on the planet that i's want 39 of....unless they were to be used as ammo.

Something other then a sequence of ricer flybyes. It's an f-body, drag race it, post times.
-
......So I could spend it on something else. If I spend a quarter mill on a car it had better do 240mph, hold 2gs, and fart the national anthem.
-
that thing is trick, daddyo. Put it on the notchback, lower it to the ground, button top, twice pipes out de back, that thing would be cherry man, cherry.

The dogs flippin out and dragging the lady was hilarious.

I'll do it if he changes the name. "OMFGBBQ TEH TIMEZ ATTAKKZORZ!!" just doesn't quite feel right, neither does "The next "Big Thing" in automotive lifestyle and motor sports events!". Personaly I've grown to distrust and mock anyone using (and more specificaly marketing) the words Automotive Lifestyle. It looks realy fun, but comes off as uncommonly gay. It's time trials racing. Its Road course autocross with other cars on the track. The cougar says modified class looks delicious. At least it's not Drifting, or toe jam or touge er whatever the hell they call it. -
Fun is in the driving, not the engineering. Just because you cannot drive in such a way to make slow cars exciting, I can see how it would be a boring car. But to those of use who do more then just stand on the gass, the rabbit can be a great bad ass little car.

Anyone have the drag coeficients of the two cars? the Vette is longer and narrower, .01 in drag coef at 100 mph makes for a sizeable acceleration difference, even with similar power.

Pics will be coming later if desired. The truck is a King Cab short box v6 auto Desert Runner with 45kish on the tach...and about 20k on the motor, which was plucked from a 2003 Xterra and placed. The truck belongs to my girlfreind, and being a girl truck, is is clean and un'offroaded. The Desert Runner package means 4x4 suspension without 4x4 running gear. Think Baja formula. 2002's in the area are going for between 12,000 for 80k mile base models and and 20,000+ for low mile quad cab 4x4s, depending on many things. I havent found any other desert runners to compare pricing to, so we're calling it in the middle price range. Looks like this minus the nerf bars and plus the Desert Runner tag. $15,000 obo.

there are also animals capable of doing it with their tail or other appendages.....nothing big though

I'd feel bad if I damaged a GLH, but I could roll the rabbit 8 times and not give a shit, hell, it'll probably still drive. Therefore, it's more bad assed.

I got to keep my wisdom teeth SUCKERS!!! But, I constantly bite my cheek while chewing gum, like at least once a week, it draws blood. I think having them pulled would save me a lifetime of pain.
