  1. Have you put any real seat time in the 1969 since you did all that work? Feels like you are getting itchy for something else because you aren't using it enough...but I could be wrong.

Some. It is horrendously slow. Like it wont do a burnout on wet black top slow. But it does run well. Id have no issue driving it wherever. Hence a drivetrain swap.

My biggest issue with it now, is the windows and doors. The doors are just a bit off and the passenger window needs glued back in. It is a major PIA to just roll up the windows. I feel like getting the doors adjust is just outside my realm to deal with. Some people probably wouldn't even care (obvious of all the previous owners not dealing with it), but its been bugging me. Fear of what it would cost to fix these things plays heavy, as I said, I dont want to be balls deep under on the "value"

I know the car will never be super nice, I get that. And I wanted something I wouldn't be afraid to drive anywhere. But I sit back and look at for sale ads and get the "grass in greener on other side of the fence" a lot.

  2. I don't know. Still want a classic. Right now, this is at the top of my list:

    https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/494718167567473

Thought about buying that outright and then trying to see if I could trade the 69 for my old Fox back (if its still there).

Some others I am looking at:

Not bad, has just the right amount of ugly. Screaming for some rims.....

Along the same lines. A crusier

    https://cleveland.craigslist.org/cto/d/1968-galaxie-500-convertible/6521379361.html

Might be more than I want to take on. Thought it might be cool if the car got wrapped.

Also thought of finding another fox with a decent drive train, pull it for the 69 and then keep the fox shell for another turbo something in the future.

Also kind of have a soft spot for C3 Vettes. Find a lot of them in my price range, and could always look into a LSx swap. Never even sat in one though. I like C5's, but unless I traded, are mostly out of my price range.

Also might just put that roller motor I have in the 69 and maybe that might be enough.

I'm kind of all over the map, been that way this entire winter. I'm not really looking for a huge project, just something I can give some TLC. Or just keep cracking with the 69. Biggest fear there, is I know I am over on the value of the car, so kind of afraid to keep putting a lot of money into it. Anyone else find anything cool?

Im telling you, its the most fun daily I have ever owned.

  4. So, question: Cometic MLS gaskets or FelPro 9333? Assuming if the block doesn't explode, I'd like to run some boost next year.

My philosophy has always been to treat head gaskets like a fuse. You want it to blow before other, more expensive things. Assuming the tune is dialed in, it should not pop.

  5.

That's pretty much exactly where I'd like to be. Around 300/330, if I don't beat on it the stock T5 should be able to handle that. What fuel upgrades was that with?

    Stock 19's

    A nice Fuel Pressure regulator

    255 in-tank pump

See a lot of people put way to big of an injector on a all motor car. Hell, I knew a guy out at the track years ago. Had a 408 with spray and 24# injectors, ran 10's every week.

  6. Before the turbo.

    Stock engine and cam

    Edelbrock Performer heads

    Edelbrock Intake

75mm TB (65 would have been plenty)

    C&L 73 MAF

    Longtubes and exhaust.

Made 300/330 at the tires and ran 12.40's on slics at 109.50 trap. I dont think I even change spark plugs once that entire combo was in the car. Cams sound good, but as you see, not necessary.

Before things started to get crazy with my turbo setup, I ran stock 8548 Fel Pro gaskets. Id blow the motor before the gasket, lol.

  7. In all honesty, Id just get a Vortech, Kenne Bell or Novi. And this is coming from the turbo Mustang guy. Would be just so much easier to install, make the same power, and be more reliable. I am working on a On3 89 Mustang now, and the owner farmed out the car to another shop to have the turbo kit reworked because it just flat didn't fit.

That pro turbo kit link that was posted is a good deal. That company was what i used when I first turbod my 93. Just fit well, very little modifications. If bound and determined to get a turbo, id get that.

  8. Buy it . It will be ‘06 all over again. Does your brother still have his?

I had my buddy Chad call, guess he got it down to 6800 without the blower stuff. Even then, I just don't have the money until April. I took down all the contact info, Ill check back on it then.

He does not. Ended up trading for an 01 Z06. Its a pretty nice car and he has been putting some money into it making it nicer. Heard the new owner of his car changed the turbo and went 9.10's at almost 150. But then he sold it a few months later and not sure where it is now.

  9. For whats on it, no way its worth 12k, crack head prices there. Plus that engine bay just looks like hell.

From what I can see, the engine, Transmission and fuel system are all gone. If it were April and I had my bonus, I would honestly consider trying to work a deal, maybe as a roller, but I just don't have the monies to try anything now. Car has been sitting at least a month, maybe it will sit right where it is for 2 more ;)

  10. I'm hoping there's video of the center core that didn't make the landing. Apparently it hit the water 100m away from the drone ship at 300mph. The shrapnel took out two engines on the drone ship. I bet that was spectacular to see.

The stage only missed the boat by about the length of a football field, but the force of its water impact was enough to "take out" two engines on the drone ship and spray it with debris.

On the bright side, SpaceX never intended to reuse the first Falcon Heavy “center core” stage, or the two that did land successfully, Musk said.

And he hopes to share footage of the crash landing,

“We got the footage,” he said. “If the cameras didn’t get blown up as well, then we’ll put that out for a blooper reel.”
