The Hi-Point kicks like a .22. I've had one ever since they came out and love it for plinking. I would never grab it to save my life though. For what the M&P will cost, you can pick up a 10/22 for plinking and a Mosin Nagant for something to beat your shoulder to death with. you can get Nagants for $80 and the ammo is cheap too. The poor mans way to have fun at the range....

I have a very good gunsmith friend in the Newark/ St. Louisville area. He just back/neck surgery so let me call him and see if he's up to working yet. So they are working guns, you just want them gone over by a professional to make sure they OK to shoot? If that's the case you could probably take them to Ohio Valley, NASR, Buckeye Outdoor, Vances or Big Darby Creek shooting range to have them looked over and cleaned up some.

If a problem comes up he can take it back and get it fixed under warranty. Then there's the OS cost if he wants to be ligit. Makes more sense to buy a pre-built. U can use http://www.avast.com for the anti-virus software. It's free and works great. I also use Ad-aware for spy-ware and it's free too. http://www.lavasoft.com So far the best deal on a pre-built PC is that Gateway for $329. Rob, If you don't mind mail-order buy.com and newegg.com are good places to find deal.

What kind of guns are they? What do you think is wrong with them? Fix them, but don't try to clean them up. Keep the working parts of the guns clean but don't try to clean up the gun to make it look new again. You'll kill the value of the gun if you do.

Rob, that's less of a machine than the Quad core Gateway for $329. MicroCenter really doesn't have any great deals on a dual core PC's at the moment.
