i had a blue top marine battery do the same thing took out the control module and the voltage regulator when it popped. i will never own another one.

festiva hands down,they run forever. may not do as good on fuel ( 35-40 mpg) but the 4 cyl wont burn valves like the metro 3cyl's do. i have over 280k on mine and runs like a champ never let me down in the 9 or so years that i have owned it.

gojo cream hand cleaner smear it on the heavly (sp) soiled areas, wash as normal. i will let the cloths sit and marinate for a few hours before i wash them. the best stuff i have ever used
