People make me sick - new mother killed by drunk driver
zeitgeist57 replied to Mallard's topic in Dumpster
Wow. That's tragic. -
Got any room for a 45ft MCI bus, Doc? :fa:

I get that you're pissed...clearly you're using a lot of profanity. FYI, 100% guarantee you sway NO ONE to your side by showing your anger. However, if you want to help, DO SOMETHING aside from forwarding a Mother Jones/CNN-produced article. You have as much chance of making a dent in the wealth disparity/debt problem in this country. I hope you think about your family (AWD DAD) and do more to raise them properly. Keep yourself in positive environments, and make the places you function in be positive as well. I'm not naive to think happy thoughts will solve poverty, but it's better than posting a video and then forgetting about it a week later. Buildings aren't named after Facebook Warriors; do something awesome with what you have first.

He wants it heated, and preferably on the west side of town. Not sure on his price. J, let me know what your space would likely cost. I'm sure the comparison pricing would be helpful regardless.
-
It was south side of town in his bus drivers' backyard. Guy is no longer able to park it on his property.

My bro-in-law's business has a vinyl-wrapped '90s MCI bus that he lost storage on this month. He's looking for covered and preferably heated storage for the winter months (and possibly beyond). If anyone has a facility for a 45ft bus, please let me know. Thank you, CR!

I recognize the wealth disparity in this country, and I hope and SUPPORT a "fair tax" reform of our code. However, I do not know how to solve the problem, aside from taking care of my own family, my own household and community. If anything, I urge people to wake up and meet your neighbors. Find out what non-profit groups there are in your community that you want to support and GET INVOLVED .Start with yourself, spread the good work to your neighborhood, your community, and see where it goes from there. Pay it forward, and keep an open mind.

I have read the posts...understood the context... I have contributed thought-out, grammatically-appropriate responses... I am a person of "market-competitive intellect"... ...and I couldn't disagree with you more about this, DJ. I understand the context from what is being said(typed) and what is being implied. You're looking for people that don't 100% agree with a CNN video to explain themselves. Explain themselves like disagreeing with the video is wrong. Explain themselves like there is a simple, binary solution that you're looking to solve with a discussion on an automotive forum. Explain themselves so that others will benefit from a discussion that, in society today, regarding THIS topic, is politically slanted to one side. I've tried to comment appropriately on the comments thus far and I see that it's no longer a valuable endeavor. Anyone that wants to talk to me about this can hit me up anytime.
-
The "problem" in this context is both poverty, and the income/wealth inequality in the U.S.. Rofflesauce that you ask me how society accepts poverty, then mention people "fighting over scraps". Hadn't seen that clip from "Newsroom". Very cool. Seriously, Eli...any conversation you, Ben and DJ want to have about this you can hit me up in person.
-
That's a massive oversimplification to an extraordinarily complex economic environment that exists in the U.S. today. According to Eli, people should stop looking at the U.S.A. as a "land of opportunity", stop coming here from all walks of life around the globe, and STOP working hard to make a difference for themselves, their families, and their legacy because they didn't get a head start from birth.
-
Care to contribute to the conversation you started? To DJ's question: I think villifying the rich doesn't benefit anyone that isn't in the 1%. Two negatives (being rich is bad, and being poor is bad) will never solve the problem. Society's perception (acceptance) of poverty doesn't help either. What do I have to do AFTER I recognize that poverty could have been my own life situation? Wallow in an enlightened sense of self-pity? make sure I post a CV of civic/religious/charitable duties I've performed to validate my opinions??? I think it's extremely hypocritical viewpoint to "judge" those that are judging...CLIFFS: You're doing it yourself! Recognize this thread is an academic circle-jerk thinly disguised as a social review and "reality check".
-
Good looking Miata. Welcome to the site!

Ben, I tried to cash your "reality check" in the branch at the lobby of my building... IT BOUNCED Demanding change because you want it, and backing it up by your admitted lack of facts is scary, and pathetic. CNN rustled your jimmies and you look like a fool trying to "spread the gospel". I also reference what Ray said: my income isn't nearly as high as my wealth: that which I've earned over a roller-coaster career in the last 12 years switching jobs, moving locations, losing income altogether, and reinventing myself along the way. You can throw up stats all you want...won't get me to care about some socialist cause you claim to support.
-
NOW I see you backing down. Figured that would come about (what happened to "flame on"?). Go to the "other" Cars and Coffee event and see how well that message is received. From the article: "Personal choice, including her decision to have so many children, plays a role in it, of course, but the choices in front of her are limited by a host of factors, including an income that won't support her family." Personal choice also got her the fuzzy dice and 4 air fresheners in her 2005 Ford Taurus. CHOICE CHOICE CHOICE CHOICE CHOICE CHOICE CHOICE CHOICE CHOICE CHOICE CHOICE Kids out of wedlock? Drugs? Crime? Are these poor choices or accidents? Where does personal responsibility come into play? Ben? Seriously, I'm asking for your opinion...

FACEPALM

My life is not being measured by the quantity of lives I THINK I touch... ...but by the quality relationships I build and foster over the span of my life. I didn't ask for the government to make decisions on how I live my lifestyle for me. However, Thorne begs for it, talks like he's making a difference for people he's never met, e-battling for an ideal that isn't materializing, still believing lies from groups of people he pledged to support. It's sad, really...

Scientists have figured out why Paul & Myself can't spell.

Because he needs to stay within the heaving masses, longing for the steady support of a government that wants to enslave their constituency. NO ROOM TO BE EXCEPTIONAL. -
Damn...that's nuts!
-
Guys, please...you're talking to THORNE here. The guy needs his information spoon-fed from the government machine, drinks milk from Pelosi's tit. We could all give him capitalist, free-market solutions to problems we're facing currently... but the second a child is left behind, or a homeless man isn't given free healthcare, he's up in arms. I can also give real-world examples as to why this is all a disaster, but at the end of the day I'm just feeding his ego. He needs to tend to his own household; I'm going to bow out and hope he goes and does something productive in his life.
