  1. http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2013/10/generation-why-no-job-no-money-no-car/ Be sure to read the two links from DCAutoGeek and the IIHS study as well. While the modern trend of younger folks not driving is noticable, I have always thought that ECONOMICS (purchase/fuel/maintenance/insurance) of auto ownership has far more to do with this event than improvement of technology and telecommunications. Personally, I find the complexity and expense of cars also combines with today's modern society of not being able to do things yourself: but for automotive enthusiasts, we live in a CostCo/WalMart-throw-it-away, instant-gratification society that prefers "the new" far more than something you make yourself, or purchase used and keep it running. The expectation that everyone should just buy/finance/lease a new car - and this is a message from parents, too! - trickles down to a society of dependent consumerism. /rant
  2. Historical plates! WOOT!!!
  3. Use another financial institution. Even with 5/3 and Key as I've seen, you can go back to 2006 and finance up to 72 months. Granted, the rates at that point are 5.5%...
  4. Why 2010 or newer??? 05-06 CTS-V with lower miles.
  5. RIKE A GERD NEIGHBARR...
  6. Congrats to Chrysler! Considering the crappy interiors as recently as MY 2011/12, I look forward to seeing how the new models age. I trust that a lot of the Chrysler quality/reliability issues of the past are well behind them.
  7. Congratulations on your efforts paying off! This has been a heck of a project to follow. Sucks about the A/C line. I'm sure you'll figure our the vacuum leak in short order.
  8. Thanks for being a sport. Welcome to the site!
  9. If you accessed an internet forum at 10:30am (during the work/school day), then maybe you can post some pics or let us know when you will. Thanks!
  10. I'm on the board of directors for our church's day-care program, and tuition is relatively cheap depending on how long the kiddos are there. Even with that, we do sponsorships for deserving parents; It's usually one-offs for single-parents a few months at a time until they get back on their feet, but it's definitely all about the kids: making sure they continue to progress in their year. I'm only mentioning this to say that you need to look at pre-schools to get a feel. Maybe even bring your kiddo along to see how she likes different programs. Don't go nuts, running around town either: try to find one near home/work, or better yet one that's tied to the school district she will likely be going to so she socializes with alot of her future kindergarten classmates beginning in pre-K.
  11. The graphics remind me of the "ski" game I played in the '90s. Where the monster runs and eats you, picks his teeth with your ski pole. There's a certain nostalgia to a simple game I enjoy.
  12. Wifey just completed her first half marathon. It's an amazing accomplishment to do the 26.2!!!:thumbup:
  13. I'm a fan of the Cruze Eco:thumbup: It could be worse... ...you could be driving 2 AVENGERZ! :gabe:
  14. I'd totally DD something like this if it wasn't for one thing: PARKING GARAGES :no::no:
  15. Looking forward to seeing NOT DOX fixed up right! Might I request deleting the 2001 F&F muffler? Do you even NEED a muffler with twin turbos muffling the exhaust? :grin2:
  16. Doc, thanks for everything you do to support these events. As someone who only made it out to one track day this season (shame on me!) I would say that any excess should be used for track day activities (scholarships, cookouts, etc...). This is CR; continue to promote the sport and competition of racing!
  17. Welcome! Amazing how simple the front structure of a Fox body looks with the nose and fenders off...
  18. TOTAL PROPS to you for the new C7, but not a fan of white. How does it drive? Any plans for future mods?
  19. http://www.autoblog.com/2013/10/20/anki-drive-video/ This is pretty freakin' cool...
  20. I spent a half-hour threadsurfing on Weldingweb about the capicator upgrade and better wire...more intrigued about this machine more than ever...
  21. Hoo boy... Kinda glad Wagner from Columbus Underground never returned my email from earlier this season. I didn't know about this connection with Wiggs, and this article is a clusterfuck.
  22. http://www.harborfreight.com/170-amp-migflux-wire-welder-22-volts-110-amps-68885.html HOT ROD Magazine has a coupon to knock another $40 off the price of this welder. Yes, the duty cycle is only 20%, and I'm sure parts are impossible to come across. I can't imagine anyone using their welder for paid jobs would consider this unit. However, considering the hobbyist has to fight every other schmoe to get CL leftover welders, and newer quality units sell for 3-4x the price...
  23. Sorry to hear about your loss, Pat. My condolences to you and your family.
