  1. I just saw it last night at the 2AM showing at Easton. Absolutely awesome. 10/10. The movie is currently ranked third best movie of all-time on IMDB. I'm sure it will go down later as more and more people rate it, but still, very impressive.
  2. I used to watch it ~4 days a week when the primary season was just getting started. This was when, at one point in a show, he stated he was behind Guiliani at that particular point in time and bashed the other republican candidates. I like Glenn, I just don't like this particular part of his style -- on most subjects I agree with him, I just don't like that when he picks a target he just comes down on them with everything he has and seems not to acknowledge much of the good. The Al Gore topic is a good example (and for the record, I'm not much of an Al Gore fan), same with Obama. I don't like all of Obama's stances, but I pretty much can't stand McCain, but he also certainly has some good points with things. What don't you believe me on? Perhaps I can clarify for you. I believe I made two statements that stand out -- I am a registered Republican (fact) and I will be voting for Obama if a good Independent candidate doesn't emerge (also a fact). You're making some assumptions and accusations here that aren't accurate, so let me give a little bit of info. In 06 I did not vote for the House of Reps because I didn't have enough info on the candidates at the time to vote with good conscience (to my recollection). I did vote for Sherrod Brown (D) in the Senate because Mike DeWine was/is an illegal immigration advocate which is unacceptable to me. I'm glad he's out of office and Sherrod Brown is in. I've written him a few letters and received some back from his staff that have been favorable on some of the issues that are important to me. I appreciate your agreement. And I do consider myself MOSTLY conservative-leaning. I don't back McCain because of his stance on Iraq, his economic ideas, and his stance on illegal immigration (frankly I don't believe he has changed his stance on illegal immigration as he so seemingly wants voters to believe). Sorry for the length, first time I saw the thread since my last post. Hope you all have a safe Friday.
  3. Glenn is definitely spot-on on some major issues (oil, corporate control of gov't, etc.), and mostly mainstream issues, and I definitely like how he calls out gov't officials and most of the time calls it exactly like it is. The only thing about him that rubs me the wrong way is that when he picks a candidate to back, he blatantly bashes everyone else, even the other candidate's good qualities, just to promote the person he supports -- he did this initially when he supported Guiliani during the primaries then changed his mind later to McCain. It's okay to have opinions, but when he gets biased and won't even acknowledge good qualities of others, that bothers me. I'm a registered Republican that will be voting Obama unless a really good independent candidate emerges, and I can acknowledge that McCain atleast does have good war experience, I just disagree with most of his standpoints, but can acknowledge the pros. Most of the people here can do the same in acknowledging pros/cons of issues.
  4. Thanks for the responses fellas. I'm over on the west side of Gahanna near the airport, close to Goshen Lane Elementary, but on the other side of Johnstown Road. No one that I've seen (although I honestly haven't looked as I figured I'd have to check w/ some government official anyway) has any full fledged fences. I will check into this. Thanks very much for the responses.
  5. Thanks. I apologize for my ignorance, but how do I find out of my neighborhood doesn't allow it? Is there a website with rules for certain areas, or a place I call, etc.? Thanks for the response.
  6. Anyone here live in Gahanna that is familiar with the laws of putting fences up in your yard? I'd like to put a fence up on one side of my house and I was wondering if it was illegal in Gahanna? Thanks for any help you can provide.
  7. Oh you may very well be right, but I want to see who voted to block this. Even though this may not work the way Dems want it to, the Republicans who are blocking it, certainly aren't helping. If they don't like it and in turn block it, that's totally cool, but offer up some solutions instead of being part of the problem and just shutting down everyone else's proposals. You know what I mean?
  8. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080610/ap_on_go_co/congress_oil_profits You guys know how to search and find out exactly who voted to block this? I mainly want to know if Voinovich voted to block it. Thanks.
  9. I personally would like to see Bush & Cheney both impeached. Arrogant fucks think they can get away with anything -- and so far they have.
  10. Yeah this 90+ heat is a little unbearable unless you're at the pool. I like it around 65 degrees.
  11. Hope not, but it's certainly possible. Hillary being on the ticket wouldn't keep me from voting for Obama, but it would make me a little uncertain. I personally would love to see Biden as the VP. I liked him. No BS.
  12. First off I'll say I don't like Pit Bulls, period. Second, I finished E-Mailing the Speaker in opposition to this Bill. The problem is not the dog. The problem is the owner. If the dogs got loose and hurt somebody, the owner is 100% liable. I could see the dog in the incident being euthanized, but the bottom line is that it is the owner's responsibility to control his or her animals, period. And it's also a good point to make that most people's animals are like family members. A bill like this is a recipe for anarchy. If someone were to come to your house to take your child away to kill them by way of lethal injection, would you not fight the authorities, bodily and with weapons if need be? I think most people would. There's no way this will pass.
  13. $50 for the pair. These are Patron tickets. I will not be able to go, so figured I'd give someone else the opportunity.
  14. Parents are still married, both in their mid-50's so they've been married around 35 years. I have an awesome relationship with them -- they live next door so I see and talk to them daily. As many do, I also regret being a stupid teenager, but as my mom tells me on the times when I've apologized for being a brat, it's part of growing up and parents need to pretty much expect it. I'm very appreciative of everything they've done for me and all the times they've been there for me. For those of you on this board who are still in your teenage years -- truly appreciate your parents and the things they do for you. Try to do your part in having a good solid relationship with them -- you will be so glad you did later in life.
  15. I had something similar happen about 5 years ago. I was so pissed off I actually WAS going to switch to National City -- this was when Chase was Bank One. I went to my local Bank One and sat down with a guy and told him what happened and that I'd like to withdrawal everything and close the account. He said he could certainly help me with that, but asked if there was any way they could keep my business. I said sure, refund my fees in full. He said done. Haven't had a problem since. Try the same thing -- the worst they can say is no, and then you just dump them for gouging.

I saw one in the Gahanna Chipotle parking lot on Sunday. Nice looking little cars. I haven't done any research on them so I don't know what kind of gas mileage they get, or even what they cost, but if price is right, I was actually thinking of possibly replacing my beater Mustang w/ one.
  17. Not sure what I get in the City with the Corvette, but on the freeway (I mostly commute with it) I get 30-32. My 94 V6 Mustang gets around 23 on the freeway for the same commute. Cobra gets around 22.
  18. My g/f and I went to Ashby Cabins (http://www.ashbycabins.com) for a couple nights in April. They were really nice, built-in hot tub, plenty of space. I probably wouldn't do a honeymoon there, but it's a good getaway.
  19. I'd say it's pretty far off. Says my Corvette gets 26mpg on the freeway -- wrong. I get 30+ consistently.
  20. I know what you mean. I can usually re-sell for 40-50% of what I paid but apparently not this time, hah.
