Just to give you an idea, here is a parts list for putting an M112 (from 03/04 Cobra) on a Mach1: Needless to say, most people decide it's more cost effective to buy a complete kit from KB or whomever.

The Mach1 shares the same heads, so I've read about the issue as well. The prevailing theory is that the cooling design is flawed, allowing some cylinders to overheat and do nasty things to the valve guides. I've heard it in person once (on a Cobra), and the sound makes me want to cry Luckily, there are preventative measures available. As for what to look (listen) for... well, just don't freak out and get too anal about it. The valvetrain and injectors are a little noisier than some people are used to. If it really does have "the tick", it will probably be more of an "oh my god, what is that nasty sound" kind of effect. There are videos floating around somewhere if you've never heard it.

I was under the impression that cash was a no-no for CODs these days (they don't want to get robbed). At any rate, your best bet is money order or cashier's check. If you get a MO and just leave the pay-to line blank until the delivery guy shows up, it would be easy enough to get your cash back if something unexpected happens.

The price of scrap steel has gone up, so it shouldn't be too hard to find someone to pick it up if you need to go that route. My dad recently had a couple cars towed off and got around $100 each for them. Dunno who exactly to call though, maybe ask a scrap yard for some names.

I believe Paypal only refunds the price minus $25, so it doesn't sound worth the trouble. I filed a complaint about a year ago on a ~$125 item and got ~$100 back. Don't know if they have changed that poilcy, or if it differs based on the amount. It does take a while though, as already mentioned. As far as bank transfers go, you can also complain to the bank and they will usually reverse the transaction. Your paypal account will go negative when that happens, so don't plan on using it until everything is settled.

Interesting to see Yahoo doing that. I've used MythTV also, but ultimately went with a Windows app called SageTV (not free, but no ongoing costs). I love the flexibility of running PVR software on a PC, for much the same reasons as Kahamri. You also having some cool options like running scaling or other post-processing software to output a really kickass image for your HDTV. And don't forget DVI output in that case!

Just a friendly bump. I loved my mini, the screen is very easy to read, it's got a good feel to it, and it's pretty sturdy. I only upgraded to the new one because I needed a whole lot more storage. Basically, there is a reason they cost an arm and a leg on eBay these days

VGA is analog and HDMI is digital, so it would be more complex than just a cable (that is, some electronics would be involved for conversion). Not saying such a thing doesn't exist, but it would be more expensive than a simple cable.

From what I understand, even if it is established early on that a husband is not the father, his name still has to go on the birth certificate, and he still gets stuck with all the support responsibilities. So with the current laws, you probably wouldn't want to know
