  1. I would steer clear of MR2'S op. They are neat for what they are but aftermarket sucks and dollar for dollar they make less then other platforms. The factory ecu is terrible. You can use piggybacks but you still won't get great results. You can gonna be limited to about 300whp. That's going to require a td06.20g. The ecu doesn't like timing change. So unless you plan full ecu replacement I wouldn't touch it.

I was a pioneer for mr2 back in late 90's early 2000's. I was a top importer for JDM engines and hard to get aero. My personal car had a t67a trunk mount intercooler and haltech. This was 2002 maybe. Which was considered a big set up back then. I can rebuild a mr2 in my sleep. From my experience stay away.

    Things have changed.

  2. I have two jobs, and my second job never schedules me during the day on Saturday...and they did this Saturday, so I can't go today or tomorrow :\

Sad, but thats life. Hope you guys have fun, I miss going down there when dad was running Sunriser (same roads) back in the day.

  3. I'll be going! I used to avoid it like the plague, but as life style changed, lbs melted away and muscles started to grow I actually get pretty excited for it now. You get all sorts of free stuff too!

Hoping to run in to some of my weight loss idols too, a lot of them are floating around there.

  4. Just like any kind of motor racing, the expenses are always more than expected. A "Rally car in a box" kit sounds excellent, especially if it covers all the necessary inspection/certification points. Last thing I would want is getting physically hurt from something being not QUITE right. Where's the best place to look for ready to run type cars? Not a genre I've ever shopped for

Special Stage is (or was) like the internet center of the universe for North American rallying, and they have a classified section. There are quite a few facebook groups/stores too for rallying related things.

  5. I know I'm going to regret asking this but...for those who have done Rally before what kind of cost incursion are you looking at? Have an extra Subaru or two sitting around the shop ...

Its a pretty expensive sport, but you can buy older already logbooked cars to get started for not too much money. There was a company called Safe Drives that used to sell a "Rally car in a box" kit for Subarus that included all of the necessary safety equipment to get started, it was pretty cheap for what you got which included a weld in roll cage. They appear to have gone out of business when I went looking for their site, though.

  6. For what its worth, which isn't much to OP's question, almost all of my tools are Harbor Freight. Work great and have rebuilt countless cars. The only time I don't buy tools there is when they don't have something I need, which is rare, and they have lifetime warranty just like everyone else.
  7. I saw this yesterday while digging around. If i "upgrade" to windows 10, how will reinstalls work in the future? Can i download windows 10 install media and just start there? Or will i have to go through the uograde process again? Wondering it just like converts your key into a windows 10 key or something.

Yep, just download the media and punch in your Windows 7 key. It should be flagged on Microsoft's servers that it was converted to Windows 10

  8. With everything going wireless and BT being standard in most cars these days, I found myself wanting it in my 2011 STi. The car comes with BT, but it is only for phone calls and will not steam media. I have a AV kit installed, with USB, and AV ports. The phone has to be plugged in to USB, and is is not a USB that charges, which is frustrating. Also, with the iPhone 7 not having a headphone jack, and not wanting to manage the adapter for it, I just wanted to streamline things in the car.

I installed this in about 3 minutes and all my issues are resolved.

It uses the standard red and white AV to headphone jack wire, which is included in the kit. If your car has a AUX plug in, I would say you could just connect to that with a standard AUX cord to the unit. The unit is is also set up to run it reverse, and has the red and white AV ports. It's kind of hard to go wrong. It is powered by USB to mini USB into the unit, and that wire is included too. I have in plugged in to a USB cigarette lighter adapter for power.

Initially, I was looking into this for my shop stereo and the sound bar in my basement. Then I thought it would work in the car too. So, I bought three of them and everything is easy going. Only frustration is I wish I could rename them as 1,2,and 3 for connecting.

Hope this helps anyone who may be looking to do the same.

Hey, I bought one of these for my Honda Fit following this thread. It works great, but does anyone know if you can set it to just turn on when power is applied? It's a very small annoyance to have to turn it on by hand when I get in the car. It might be in the instructions, but I accidentally tossed them when cleaning my car the other day.

  9. I have a monetized youtube channel, i would say over the life of my channel I've made probably $1000. I haven't made any new content in a while, so it hasn't grown, but I want to get back in to it.
  10. M&M can't keep their shop clean and their parts straight. They literally gave me someone else's heads once. Their "office" if you can call it that is a path barely wide enough for one person to walk through with engine blocks/cranks/heads/etc lining both sides.
