I dont know much about his shift, but I do know that my uncle often works holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. Not always, but often.

My uncle, David Williamson, has been on a Columbus firefighter for a long time. His stepson/my cousin, Mark Davis, is a firefighter on the beach in North Carolina, on the waiting list for CFD. I think he does more EMT stuff there, though.

I dont know how much you are looking to roll them, but the baseball bat trick always works, just make sure to heat your paint up so you dont crack it.

My family has used Kerosene blower heaters for a long time. The really only work directionally, but they put off a good amount of heat. (They run off of 120v, Vander)

The best way to learn how everything works is to attend the school each year. Its the day before the first event, and they take you through everything you need to know. Oh and its put on by SCCA OVR, and this event was at Cooper Stadium.
