Actually, weight distribution is improved with the LS1.... An LS1/T56 weighs about the same as a 13bt with tranny, and weighs less than a 20b with tranny.

The stock turbos max out fairly quickly, and like Dr. Rick said, they can hit 400 on stock internals. They are stupid cheap to modify and find replacement parts for. Run a 4 cyl ranger roller cam and retard it a few degrees to get some good additional power. -

You can also put the 4AGE head on the 7AFE block and make a "7AGE" stroker motor. Someone made a 20v 7AGE Stroker Turbo, using the AE101 head.
