I have an AirCard 595 in my T60. Work is paying for the airtime so I can connect in whatever city I am in. I am pretty happy with it so far, even works in my mother in laws house (1860's brick home with plaster walls). I don't get super high speed but when you gotta read emails or check on flight times it is awesome.

My new job is paying for me to get EVDO service with Verizon Wireless because I am a remote employee. I picked it up tonight at Best Buy in San Jose CA and am using it now. Very nice I can VPN over it back to the office when I am not using my Remote 802.11 solution.

You have to realize that canadian income taxes are MUCH higher a n d as a bonus, you won't be paying into social security in the US plus there is no 401k type system in canada. I would say that you need a 50% USD raise in order to make up for this stuff. Toronto is a pretty nice city to live in, I have several friend there. If you have children to need to know the language laws for school children, they will probably be forced into a french only school.

Its funny, the last time I got pulled over I though "Crap, I shouldn't have been driving so fast" Apparently I should have been thinking "damn cop, I bet what he is doing is illegal I wonder what I can do to get out of this". The thing is, getting past the application process will be tough so I cannot ask you during the interview. If xCorp says "must have CCNA" then your app. is immediately thrown out. It is a reality that kind of sucks but a reality none the less. I have M A N Y contacts in the networking field and have worked in several industries as a networker (govt, ISP, banking, vendor) and almost every contract that gets let, or staffing req. that goes out, requires a recognized cert as a requirement. I didn't like having to take that test again either, but it removes many of the limitations for the job seeker.

There is a Rolls Royce plant near Mt Vernon... There really isn't that much labor intensive manufacturing in central Ohio.
