    Ducati 1098...

I have been a Duck fan for a while. I drove the 06 999 and it is really nice. They build their bikes to be taken thru corners, they don't want you sitting up high for that. For Ducati it is all about powering out of a tight corner and slamming into the next one. This bike is very nice. I know where you can get one for about $1000 off of list.
  4. Can anyone site the laws regarding this from ORC or whatever? I think that was the original point of the thread. My kid goes to the school in my neighborhood so walking isn't a big deal. But to someone it might be and thus the request for the Ohio laws regarding it.

    Anarchy in the UK

If you go to LGW on 1/14 and return on 1/22 from CMH the fare is $351 on US Air. I am trying to get work to pay for it right now....
  6. wow, if only it were that easy anymore. The CCNA has changed quite a bit as of the 642-801 test. Switch and Router config troubleshooting has taken up most of the test, in addition to the standard subnetting, wildcard masking etc. The OSI model has been removed because you should already know that... With a CCNA and some experience one can expect $40K/yr, the next step is CCNP ~$60K and CCIE ~$100k
  7. Now if we could just kill off telemarketers...
  8. I have used Carlson-Wagonlit up near polaris and was happy with them. I usually look at it on expedia and then price it with the airline directly and the hotel directly quoting expedia's price.
  9. go to http://www.anysoldier.com This is a list of people and the things they could use.
  10. If you have a 54Gbps pipe running out of your house you should use the G. If you don't and your B is working, use the B, probably less interference and will probably be more stable.

If you change your MAC to one that is authenticated you can utilize the network for free.... The preceding is for EDUCATIONAL purposes only, DO NOT ATTEMPT....

    Directv

Some observations I have had Directv for quite some time now, I was upgraded to the latest and greatest MPEG4 HD Locals via Satellite bla bla bla. About two weeks after I got it I lost signal. They sent a tech he determined the first tech did it wrong, realigned the dish and off we go for about two months. I then lose signal again, am told the dish is loose, realigned, badabing, fixed. The third time it goes out it comes back like 4 hours later. Finally, today, it goes completely 0% signal in all azimuth. So I call again, tell them the wind blew again, they schedule a tech for thursday and discount me a week of service. I say wait, I need to talk about getting let out of my contract. I talk to customer relations, the immediately gives me a 4 month discount on my HD service and reduces my bill by $10 per month for a year. I say, great, when do my rights as a consumer trump your BS contract that you aren't able to uphold? He tells me that basically I am screwed and cannot break the contract under any sort of consumer protection. Does anyone know if there is a consumer protection "lemon law" for essential services? (The Fed determined TV as essential for news etc...)

    CPD tasers

As more and more departments deploy them and the public sees what they are capable of they become an excellent deterrant. If you read the article about them in This Week or whereever, they talk about how merely drawing the taser and stating "lay down or I will taze you" has gained more and more compliance. I still don't think their designation as non-leathal has proven 100% accurate but they are certainly better than standard 9mm deadly force. Suicide prevention and drunk/drugged up aprehension has become more effective with the Taser. I really want one for home protection, this way I can get my family away and if I lose control of it I probably won't be killed with it.

No, you can put protections in place. Here is the rub, letting someone access a webserver is what makes it not secure. By allowing traffic to it, someone can disguise his/her traffic as benign web traffic and take over the box. Most up to date servers mitigate the risk of an attack, but again the fact that the box is open to the world makes it vulnerable. So you have to put the server in a controlled environment with as much security as possible and still allow the end user to do what the server was intended to do. You can put a firewall in front of the server to add an additional security measure, shut down unused services on the webserver like telnet, ftp etc... There are M A N Y good books about securing a web environment, go to Barnes and Noble and check some out.
  15. I love the innerweb. My wife tells me we are getting this phonecall from Nevada so I put it in here http://www.whocalled.us/ and find out who they are, what they want and why they call. I never have to answer the phone again.

Ok, so someone hacked your hosts' site and turned the server into a spam-bot. You need to figure out how they got in, if you are running IIS5 or unpatched any IIS you probably will have this problem over and over. Apache isn't immune to hacking, just immune to simple hacking. Basically you need a secure setup. yes you can host the site at your home if you have A. a static IP or B. Register with a dynamic DNS company. (dhs.org?) Basically you build the site on the computer you want and put it in your home network. Then you need to get the DNS pointed at your IP/DDNS. Once that is done you are done. You need to pay attention to security on the new site and your network. That is another topic though. make sure you apply the latest security patches....mmkay?
  17. 13% on relatively short time periods. I don't want my wife and kids to have to walk down the highway due to breakdown, and if the breakdown occurs I prefer to be able to yell at someone to get it fixed. don't get me wrong, I love working on my 1970 beetle, but I expect a certain level of driveability from my daily driver.
  18. The House Where Evil Dwells sounds familiar. Samarurai murders his wife's lover and then in the 1800s and then posses everyone that moves into the house to do the same. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084096/ If this is right, I found it by googling.... 1980 HBO japan house ring
  19. I am thinking of getting rid of my car. I figure if I get a Michigan plate and write, drove south til I smelled it and east til I stepped in it.... It will get flipped and burned and I can get a new car. Predictable mob mentality behavior.

  21. Seriously dude, it is good that you didn't get smushed. The best thing to do is use this as an educational tool and make sure you got it covered next time. In the submarine force there are plenty of safety rules that have been put into place because of dead sailors.
  22. For fast food, I eat loads of chipotle but I like Culvers in Hilliard. Culvers is from Wisconsin and I am from Minnesota near the Wisconsin boarder so the food is like we have in mom/pop places. Cheese curds RULE!!!
