Working at UUNET, someone ran out of the NOC and said that a plane had just hit one of the WTC towers. I watched in awe and wondered what was going on, thinking it was a horrible accident. Then the second one hit. I remember being outside at my house in Hilliard, that evening, and it was quiet. No planes.

Down economy, industry that isn't doing that well due to fuel costs.... Boeing offered 11% pay raise over 3 years and a few other things. The Union wants more and so they went on strike. I think Boeing will start looking to build aircraft in some other country.
