  2. +1, just gotta know how to fix things and how things are done.
  3. all the time, i've gone as far as atlanta as them, the bmv loves me too
  4. thanks for the recommendation, I'll look into that one more. I'm not partial to canon, and I'm not really picky when it comes to pictures, but I'd like to have a good all around camera because my daughter is growing up and we do many different things so it would help.
  5. My Canon Powershot SD100 just took a dump, it still works but the image is all screwy. I've had it a few years so I guess it's time for a new one. I don't want to spend a crazy amount of cash, I'd say no more than $500 for a good one. Size doesn't really matter, I'm mean it'd be nice to fit it in my pocket, but I'd rather have a nicer resulting picture. thanks
  6. I've got a 2000 Jetta and need a driver's tail light. thanks
  7. trust me I'm sore, mainly from crawling on the garage floor for so long and up/down so much, but a few busted knuckles don't help. Definitely one of the easier things to do on a car and it whooped my ass. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if I've EVER done rear brakes on any car I've owned. I've done fronts plenty of cars, but I guess I don't keep cars long enough to require the rears being done, so I definitely learned how to do it quickly, luckily my buddy gave me a ride since the car was outta commission.
  8. thanks to a local member who hooked me up with a caliper tool kit it took me 30 minutes to do both rears, after dicking with it so long. The right tools can make anything easier. He said he got his at sears for like $60, I swear I'll probably run out and get myself one, even though I only do brakes a couple times a year, it was a good kit with many different attachments and it was a breeze. thanks for the idea's guys, you have no idea how pissed I was earlier today, I'm just glad I got it done. I also changed 3 plugs/wires but teh 4th is right under the center of the intake manifold and even though I might be able to get a ratchet on the plug, Ihave no way to remove/reinstall the wire firmly. Any ideas?
  9. I attempted to do my rear pads/rotors on my wife's new to us 2000 jetta, but no luck. And now I can't even get the old worn out shit back in place. The fronts went fine, quick too, then I spent 2 hrs on just ONE side rear. Needless to say I'M FUCKING PISSED right now. It apparently turns, since it has the grooves and I can turn it with a pair of needle nose pliers, but it doesn't retract or anything, it just spins, what the fuck am I doing wrong? Shouldn't it just screw in like a screw would? I'm at 1.25" gap and I need 2" to fit the new pads/rotors in. 3/4" is huge and this thing won't budge. Any ideas? Do I have to push on it when turning or what? Where could I get the right tool on a sunday? Autozone and Napa didn't have it today when I checked.
  10. im gonna try, the wifejust asked me if I could stay home with the kid so she could go out with her girlfriends. she couldn't asked earlier? damn women. What you doing tomorrow afternoon maybe? buck, iwant to lose to you too.

    maybe, what time you thinkinl...
  12. hey man, didn't find the hardware, but i'll check in my other parts bins today, i just totally ran out of time lsat night, sry dude
  13. sure, there is an ungodly amount of room in the engine bay, you're talking like a foot in front of the motor and probably 4-6 inches on each side.
  14. Oh yeah, plenty of people throw the 4.6 or 5.4 in there, or even lsx motors or just sbc's, everything's been done.
  15. Plenty of people pay to have it built and do only the best things and end up with 50k, EASY. Yes, a 427 sounds cool, but is actually very much overkill for the car, in terms of power and cost. Good luck finding a complete crate motor 427 for under $10-$12k, that's half your $30k there. I'm not 100% certain on the superformance cars, but if they do include brakes/suspension, etc, I'm sure they are quite a bit more than the $12k the Factory Five cobra kits are. If you buy a factory five base kit you will need the Engine/trans, rear end, driveshaft, steering/suspension, wiring, fuel parts, and quite a few other things, so its just easier and cheaper to purchase a running/driving foxbody mustang for around $1-2k and tear it down in your garage. I actually came close to breaking even after selling off body parts and stuff I didn't need. You have to realize you don't need a lot of of hp to have fun in these cars, they are around 2100-2200lbs and with a stock 5.0 and good tires they should run high 12's stock. Its not only how fast it is, its a wild ride just driving it, totally different than ANY car I've even been in, its so little, light, nimble, open, etc, its really a large go-cart. It really depends on the kit you go with and if you want to have all new parts or if you're ok with cleaning/revamping used parts, and if you do the work yourself. If you pay to have this built I can EASILY see $20k in labor. Hell the body alone calls for 240hours of work. Going rate is probably about $40/hr, x 240hrs = 9600, plus materials. Definitely something to think about if you want a very awesome paintjob. My dad got his car resprayed, so the majority of bodywork was done and it was just a simple off body color change and it was between 3-4k.
  16. Yes, Superperformance I believe includes everything, but Factory Five (who's kit we've got) also sells add-on kits to complete the package, if you don't want to go the donor route. My dad's got about $25k wrapped up in his, using a donor foxbody, fresh motor/trans, quite a few upgrades etc. I've only got about $8k in mine, shouldn't be much more else needed besides paint/bodywork. But I went the long route and did much more legwork. Are you able to assemble the "kit" yourself or you strictly want to buy one already built? If you want a fully assembled one I'd recommend a slightly used one, plenty of people build these many times over, just because they either enjoy it or for a profit, but they are very reasonable. Even new ones (less than 500miles) can be had running/driving/titled for $21/22k. Granted those won't have all the cool options or huge hp, but it'll still be a Cobra. Or you can find a couple year old ones for as cheap as $17,500, with very low miles. My dad actually bought his running/driving etc w/ about 3500miles on it. Drove it the entire first summer and enjoyed it, then we tore it down, changed quite a bit and basically doubled the hp and now's its sick. He paid $16k for his. Lmk if you have any questions. Check out http://www.ffcobra.com for info/pics and cars for sale. We've got two in our garage, one in the process and one completed. Overall depending on the kit you go with, and how many "new" items you decide you need, I'd say mid 20's to low 30's for a very nice build. Many people pull nice ones, although kind of plain for $20k or less.
  17. check your fuel filter first, if the pump is priming its working most likely. But if something is blocking the flow, it doesn't matter.
  18. dude, i understand where you can be defensive, but if you check first, my post was directed towards GMONEY, not you. I never mentioned you in my post, then you came out attacking me so I only answered back...i dont care what you do with your money or your car, its yours, i wasn't attacking you only defending myself.
  19. Sure, you're welcome to come check out ALL THREE in my garage ANYTIME. I do my projects, just at a different pace and my projects are a bit more of a project then you running up and down the hwy playing with your damn computer. Also, correction for your ass, you PAY for your projects to get done, my shit is all done by myself, in my garage, on my time.
  20. dude, if you're up EARLY I'm free, as in like 8ish, but at 8:30 I gotta head to work, otherwise I'm free from 2:30-3:30 or after 7pm
  21. i called you and left a vm, never heard back...
  22. i've got them, I've parted out 4 foxbodies and have a bunch of nuts/bolts, quite afew are labeled, but a bunch are just tossed in a box. I can identify a lot by seeing them, or you can just look and compare them to my fox in my garage. give me a call, or shoot me a pm, i should be free tomorrow night.
  23. I'm not sure why you'd want to pull the battery? Can you explain? Also, I know plenty of people that have been riding for 5 years or so without ever getting a permit, not to mention hundreds of people that ride when they aren't supposed to with just a permit. (dark, hwy, passenger, etc). Might not be the right thing to do, but neither is speeding. I rode for 4months with just my permit, any time of the day, and quite often on the hwy, since its nice to cruise, and I had my gf with me quite often. Never been pulled over, just don't be stupid and you'll be ok.
  24. congrats, its a good feeling finishing up a car. I saw your car at ntb off 71 today, i stopped at the lowes, if i knew ya I would've said hey, but I just saw your sweet car.
