The guy says its mainly hwy since he is a traveling salesman, and the car looks to be in fair shape, besides the drivers side seat, pretty worn/small tears. He said/has receipts for service, including fluid flushes, timing belt/waterpump, and some other things. Its' a 98, 2dr coupe, and I can get it for a steal. Just looking for some easy things to look for before I buy this thing.

LMK if you need help, I did it half a dozen times in my car and never had a problem. Try swapping your stock in for a week or something, or go spend the $10 or whatever for a new 180/160 tstat.

Depends how much cash your throwing in along with it. As far as mileage, about 25-26 city, and 30-31 hwy, it does good and has good pickup/low-end for a daily.

1994 Jetta GL, white w/ tan interior. 5spd manual. Power locks/sunroof. AM/FM/tape radio 64,000 original miles, original owner. Have major service records, spare keys, and clean title. Some parking lot dings/chips, but in very good shape for the year. Good tires, runs and drives excellent, looks good. Cool extras: Has vento dash with OEM euro switch, came factory. just fly, it might even be cheaper if you search for a deal. Gas there and back plus tolls, and the possibility of a flat tire/something breaking/wrecking is worth it to me. Plus not to mention all the hotels/food you'd pay for while driving, just take the 4-5 hr plane trip instead of the weeklong drive, LOL.

Yeah, its not legal. You have to keep the original cluster in the car, no matter what you do to it.

I don't have time to read the entire thread, but AFAIK you can tint the rear windows as dark as possible, but the windshield, and front driver/passenger must be 50% or lighter legally. I personally have run between 5-15% on the last 6 cars I've had in the past 2-3 years, and even though I've been in a couple accidents, had a few speeding tickets and hassled about stupid shit, no one has once mentioned my front window tint. I even had my entire windshield done before.

So the blower works fine, and you hear the compressor kick on, but it doesn't get super cold. What's the problem? Just low on coolant or whatever or could it be other things? The car is 12 y/o BTW. thanks
