hey thanks, I am not sure about the clearance as I am using stock rockers, they are taller then factory but considerably shorter then the polished ebay ones I had. I knew before I even had oil in the motor that those ebay ones would be the one place this motor would leak.

Car-part.com all4n has one local for 650, you could proly sell harness and heads for 200 of that motor.

Guarantee for 2k you could build a 6.0 for his car. Hell have the heads checked, buy gaskets and new valvetrain with a used or rebuilt truck block and let it eat

Would not waste money on an ls1 block. for 500 or so you could pick up a complete lq4 local(ohio) sell the heads and harness and what not to break even on purchase. Then spend 2k on gaskets and add ons. or for the 2k you could send the junkyard motor to machine shop and have it all assembled with some new parts and put it in yourself.

yeah he was saying that he is scheduled already through the end of may. I am wanting to already have him back out to work on the gti a little.

Andy came out to my place at about 3:50 yesterday afternoon and did not leave until 9:00pm, and all he focused on was exterior polishing. Talk about being very meticulous, his work is second to none and a very friendly and upfront guy. Thanks to him the BMW paint looks near new, before it had swirl marks everywhere from what looked like someone using a broom to wash it or an automatic car wash. I plan on having Andy do some more vehicles for me, highly recommended. Will post some pics here later.

Well engine is in! I was a little worried, the more I would read about people installing Lsx into x-bodys people had tons of problems with the mounts and oil pan clearance. I am very happy I spent the money on the autokraft sheetmetal pan. The clearance from crossmember to floor is great and there is plenty of space between pan and crossmember. EH, strozyks a good guy, you should goto court if you believe that you can overturn it. CPD does not goto court on the first date. That is your arraignment from there it goes to a pre trial and then a jury trial/motion hearing. If you have had no tickets possibly the prosecutor will cut you a break....

do you have a ck engine light? it will throw bank 1 or bank 2 lean faults or secondary air faults for vacuum leaks. Also the mass air meters in most every vw is shitty and will throw lean faults as well. There was a recall for 2.8 passats for the vac line that went to the combination valves from the secondary air purge valve. The 2.8 has very few areas for a vac leak but there is one hose that is right behind the intake that is known to be soft and crack. like others have said, spray some throttle body cleaner on that hose and watch for idle surge.
