  1. I have a Pontiac Vibe for my oldest daughter - fantastic vehicle. Youngest is just not a fan
  2. Love my wife's Volvo - very interesting options Linn. Anybody have any experience with a 2006 up Mitsibishi Eclipse? Specifically the 2.4 auto?
  3. To be clear - Mini is completely out
  4. That is what I am pushing her to - that one is "salvage" title which I always am scared of. It could be great if it was fixed right
  5. Yup still had the run flats. It definitely put a smile on my face until the trans started to act up and I looked at the bills. He EASILY had as much in repairs as the original sticker (which of course he had)
  6. Ok, I posted about looking for a car for my 16 year old daughter and I received strong feedback here that a Mini Cooper, while extremely cool, was not a good choice. I almost did not listen... I knew the cars could be maintenance nightmares but figured if I could find one that had been well maintained I would be good. I did a ton of research and found,if you want an auto, get an "S" in 2005s or later (remember this is for my daughter not me and wife was against a manual - note always listen to your wife on this stuff). Fast forward to yesterday when I drove 2 hours to pick up a 2005 Mini Cooper S from private individual. He bought the car for his wife new, had ALL maintenance records, and needed to sell it because his wife had a new one on order. His son also has one in the same year. I am thinking, "clearly this one cannot be bad". First the good - it was beautiful. It was the cleanest I have seen anywhere. You could eat off the floor - I thought I found a steal. It had the most complete records I have ever seen - every oil change / tire rotation etc and the most common problems had already been fixed. As I looked through the receipts my stomach started to turn. He had the steering pump replaced in August....a staggering $2,300. What was I getting into? As for the drive - do these things even have a suspension or are the wheels bolted right to the frame? It was a blast but you really need to stay with 15s or 16s (this had opt 17s). And then it happened -chunk on a downshift. Me to owner - "does it always downshift that hard?" "My wife drives it so I am not sure". WOT - either I was hitting random ice patches or the tranny is slipping. Pull it back into his garage and put it in park then drive a few times - it would almost chirp the tires. It could need a simple Trans flush and filter change but I could not spend 6000 on a car that may need a 6000 transmission for my daughter. TL: DR - Minis are expensive to work on and are terrible DD for a teenager
  7. Hate to say it, knowing Clay, but we have had a Dyson Animal for over 5 years. We would not trade it for another.
  8. I am sorry that is your experience. That is not what the Bible teaches. Some organized religions do more harm than good. I just hope all of you naysayers take the time to investigate on your own versus listening to the rhetoric we hear all too often. Remember there are very smart people on the believers side too.
  9. Not in the 5-7k budget but cool idea.
  10. She would take a new beetle which is basically the same thing - now that she is OK with a manual we may consider. We ran away after reading reviews on the auto.
  11. Yup - funny thing is my other daughter has an 05 Vibe and it is a great vehicle
  12. I drove 2 non-S ones and thought it was pretty nice though VERY slow....
  13. Oh and yes I know the better answer is Toyota, Honda, blah blah blah. She is like me and prefers "unique" vehicles.
  14. Ok sold the truck and my daughter wants a Mini Cooper. I have always secretly wanted one but could never have one as "my" car so this would be convenient. I will stay away from the auto as they seem problematic. Any other issues? This one will be a 2002 to 2006. I found a 2005 with 130k miles but it is a one owner,no accidents, and ALL scheduled service records. I would prefer 75-80k miles but this will just get 5-7k miles per year for the next 4 or 5 years
  15. A guy coming from Cincy tomorrow - we will see. I really hate selling it as I know I will regret it.
  16. First 5000 will take this vehicle - working on a couple of deals for a replacement car for the daughter and need this gone!
  17. So guy drives from Richmond, IN with trailer in tow - after stopping at the bank - and walks because he is worried about the gas mileage the truck gets.....sheesh
  18. So happy for you. Based on your posts here I certainly did not see this coming but He works in very mysterious ways. I am glad you have found peace -
  19. I hate craigslist trolls- got an email "I will go 1500" - jerk I have 2 guys coming tomorrow and have an offer from a guy today so it looks like it will be gone pretty soon:(
  20. Is there an easy way to tell the difference between a 327 and a 350? I was told the motor in my daughter's truck was a 350 out of a 79 Chevy pickup but the chrome air cleaner says "327". I have a buyer asking and have no idea - it was never a big deal to me.
  21. No not yet - I have had a couple cancellations due to weather but they continue to contact me. A guy looked at it last night and loved it but was really only looking to spend 3500 or less. He agreed this one was too nice for that budget and wanted to talk to his wife.
  22. Lots of interest but no $$ yet
