  1. It has always been my rule that I refuse to "inherit" someone else's problem and steered away from anything modified. However, yesterday I stumbled across a vehicle I fell in love with that is modded exactly as I would have done it - it is just gnawing at me. The salesman is sending me all of the receipts. It appears to be a reputable shop down south - once I have all of the details I will share. I was just interested to see how scared you would be on buying a modded car? This would not be a DD - it would be a toy. Let's just say I know these particular cars well. (On a side note, Jordan has been working hard to find me a car - this one just dropped in my lap somehow. I actually may be booking a flight tomorrow to check it out)
  2. 3400 ish pounds, 505 horsepower 7.0 liter with a 7 speed manual? Sign me up - CUE or no CUE!

  4. I actually dragged out camper down to fort wilderness in 2005. My wife took months planning the trip and we had an absolute blast. The planning is critics. For example, I remember at Epcot there was some sort of deal where if you had dinner in this particular diner you got VP seating for Fantasia. People waited in line for like 3 hours to see that performance and we walked right by them and sat on the front row. Her plan was unbelievable and we would not have been able to do half of it without the work she did ahead of time.
  5. To be honest I did not like the CD on first listen. It is growing on me fast though.
  6. Me either . Jordan is searching for me 1) C6 2) Camaro SS
  7. Visibility is definitely not a strong suit of a 5th gen - I drove Mitch's Saturday and it definitely takes an adjustment. The 6th gen has a lower sill height - one of the press that drive it said the dash/hood is lower greatly improving forward visibility. Rearward not so much. I am looking at 5th gen Camaros and C6s. I crossed the Challenger / Charger / Mustang off as they just feel "normal" when you sit in them. You could be in any American made sedan. I want my "toy car" to feel special. I suppose that is just me.
  8. Hmmmm, after figuring out the financial aspect, maybe I should start a new thread: "Am I old enough for a Vette? " I owned a V and fit the "owned an FBody" criteria. I am ready to pick my next toy...
  9. This is one of the few situations where a travel agent is a good resource. I know someone who specializes in Disney vacations of you are interested.
  10. The 16 SS is said to be quicker on a track than the 15 1LE. If that is true that is something.
  11. 2016 Chevrolet Camaro First Look via MOTOR TREND News for iPhone http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/coupes/2016_chevrolet_camaro_first_look/index.html Lots of pics...including interior
  12. You make a good point but I think the problem is our previous experience with this guy makes the story seem realistic. Though I admit most have not met him and only know him through his crazy posts here.
  13. In case you guys missed it, GM will officially take the wraps off the 2016 Camaro today. It was leaked yesterday: http://www.forbes.com/sites/billvisnic/2015/05/15/with-unveiling-of-2016-camaro-the-musclecar-officially-becomes-a-different-animal/ Looks like Chevy chose to make the turbo 4 the "base" engine with an all new V6 and, of course, the LT1. I am anxious to see it and especially the weight. While the styling, I think, will be "evolutionary" remember it is switching platforms to the same one as the ATS which is much lighter and, based on reviews, seems like a huge upgrade. Once it is revealed we can throw links in here.
  14. Agreed...that is essentially putting 50% of your pay into your housing. It does depend on the income bracket I suppose but I would be terrified at 50%. I learned my lesson about 7 years ago and unexpectedly lost my job. Finding a new job to make what I needed to to cover my bills was terrifying. I got lucky. I don't ever want to be in that position again. While I don't want to lose my job, obviously, I want to be nimble enough that if it happens I have a lot of options.
  15. Way too many variables to do it this way. How much money do you have to put down? Real estate taxes and HOA dues vary significantly even on houses of the same value. You are better off calculating the payment for which you are comfortable and back into it. I would talk to a mortgage lender to get this info. You will need a preapproval before you start looking anyways as the houses move so fast.
  16. Just a note on mortgages - what you can qualify for will be far more than what is reasonable (in my opinion). Generally you can get approved with a debt to income (gross) less than 43%. I was once near that debt ratio and it was not comfortable - definitely meets the "paycheck to paycheck" description. Remember it is on gross not take home and only counts "minimum" payments. At that point in my life I was drowning. This is an interesting thread as I am currently kicking this around too. For the first time in my life my wife and I have gotten down to 2 debts...house and 1 car payment. I want a car terribly but do not want to take on debt. I have the cash but have a wedding for my daughter next year and my youngest is off to college next year. We have been paying cash for all of that. It is hard to argue though with the rates today and if you buy smart. You can always get out of them if you need to. For that reason I am in the market and will have a loan but am waiting on the perfect car.
  17. Yup 7-8k car at most. I sold mine for 16k like 5 years ago and based on the pics this one is not as nice.
  18. Are you forgetting the RWD conversion?
  19. I don't know, I thought Bob had this thread wrapped up in his first post with the beautiful woman - I think you stole it with this post. Wife was like " what are you reading as I laughed out loud"...nothing, go back to sleep.
  20. I was checking my Facebook timeline yesterday and noticed this random picture: http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05/07/dda52ae0182b147fef9691542a15eb5c.jpg After a bit of clicking around FB through the people linked I was able to confirm the silver T/A is my old car. Damn I miss it! I thought it was pretty cool to share. Anyone else have a chance encounter with a car you owned years ago?
  21. Congrats man- Jordan is A+. I actually looked at that car and went hmmmmm....
  22. The Compass I rented had 450 miles. That is the sad part - that is as good as it will ever be.
