  1. I tried to talk her out of it for all of the reasons you mentioned. She just HAS to have one. (Several of her friends have them and she loves them). She needs a 3rd seat and is against what she REALLY needs...another minivan. She is dealing with a 2012 enclave right now....
  2. PM'd. He is not looking for experience...knew he would have to train.
  3. So are there years to avoid? Obviously I have recommended she buy as new as possible but is there a year after which a major upgrade was added?
  4. My cousin owns an HVAC company and is looking to add 2 full time installers/ maintenance - I have no idea what it pays but if that line of work is of interest let me know and I can send you his info.
  5. Sad commentary on the current American political system. Our forefathers are rolling over in their graves.
  6. Really? My oldest daughter is a freshman at IWU. I would be driving a 2009+ CTSv if not for the stupid tuition!
  7. It would be cool to have a car that I used to own for her to work on. You already know all that is has been through. This one is a bit of an adventure.
  8. Thanks. Stop by anytime and introduce yourself!
  9. I am looking forward to the NC17 rated mugging OSU is going to put on UM. The game against MSU could be interesting.
  10. Thanks guys. Ordered $300 worth of parts yesterday, got the tags and title done, put the insurance on it. Should be ready to enjoy here in a couple weeks
  11. Thanks - that is the goal. It won't win any shows and will not bring big money at an auction or anything. I just want to enjoy it for a few years. It is really fun to drive, in a weird way. It has a lot more personality than other cars in this price range.
  12. I truly hope so. She would not even let me put the plates on it that I picked up today. She said - leave them I will put them on.
  13. So what is the easiest way to ID this motor?
  14. I figured it was - I suppose not too many like that one. Good luck with the sale.
  15. Were you out driving on 23 today? If so, I saw and heard you go buy - looks and sounds great.
  16. You may remember a thread a while back when I was asking CR's opinion on a classic truck for my daughter's first vehicle. Opinions were split, much as my own opinion. She really wanted me to pick up something on which she could learn basic mechanical skills. Given she will only be driving it back and forth to school (< 3 miles) and we have other options for her in the case she is driving further, I picked up a truck. It is a 1966 GMC C10. the Good: It spent its whole life in California - guy from Ohio picked it up in California in August and wanted to flip it here. The underside is better than any I have looked at over the last several months. It has a later model Chevy 350 V8 in it (he was not sure but thought 78-79) backed up by a 3 spd auto. 4 barrel carb, new alt, re-cored radiator, headers and dual exhaust. I may need your help in IDing the motor. The interior has been completely redone, other than the gauges, and it came with most of a power steering swap kit. Gas tank was relocated from behind the seat to a racing fuel cell under the bed. It also has new brakes, tires, and generally drives real nice. Just appears to be solid all around. The bad: Steering is loose as hell The side windows rattle (new window guide kit ordered) The door locks don't work (lock cylinders ordered) The ignition requires no key The turn signals, wipers, and headlights don't work though the headlights come on when the brights switch is engaged leading me to believe I have a ground issue. Seller said all of those worked when he bought it but stopped working on the drive home. I may just buy a whole new wiring harness and rewire the thing. Some crappy cell pics: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/casey02ws6/127_zps789fc321.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/casey02ws6/129_zps439daec1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/casey02ws6/128_zps196fd21a.jpg And my happy girl with her new pride and joy - http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/casey02ws6/130_zps6c89b67f.jpg
  17. Add manual transmission to your search or V8
  18. Drove my V in the winter last year without issue (though it was a mild winter). I have had mine a year and still love everything about it. You can drive mine if you want. I have now replaced the motor mounts and the diff bushings which are common issues on them.
  19. The day kept giving....cross Stanford off the list of teams OSU fans have to worry about.
  20. I keep wondering how the liberals have come to the conclusion that throwing money at the government to let them figure out how to fix things is a good idea. I keep thinking no one could be buying into this crap. And then I read Thorne's posts...
