  1. Any mods? If not first mod should be remove the mufflers. Sounds really good without being over bearing (note keep the resonator).
  2. Congrats man! I could not be happier with mine.
  3. Look at the Pontiac Vibe...it is a Corolla underneath and is cheaper due to it being a Pontiac. It shares most parts with the Toyota Matrix as well. We bought a 2005 with 28k miles it now has 95k and have only done routine maintenance and an axel (cv boot tore). My 18 year old beats the crap out of it and it still runs like a top and drives nice.
  4. That's funny, Chase says the same thing about our building at Polaris
  5. It's not taking the picture it is uploading the damn things...oh well! Time management is not my forte.
  6. OK had 10 minutes to snap a few cell pics. They don't do the work that Andy did justice but I will post them anyways - http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/casey02ws6/d6ea83e5-fb34-4630-89ac-5935f3ac63d5_zps67d33710.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/casey02ws6/45ebcfd9-af11-4d74-8341-de4e89c748d8_zps93a00a2e.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/casey02ws6/9e3a9235-4d43-4743-a421-5231918716c9_zps4388407b.jpg
  7. The 09s+ are significantly heavier (3800 versus 4200 or thereabouts)...that is the only drawback. They are better cars in every way. I will have one some day.
  8. Sent Bill a pm. Thanks guys. Apparently this is a common problem on these motors.
  9. I was looking for one with 50-60k since it would be a DD and I don't have time for turning wrenches every weekend. While I agree if it has been maintained 100k is nothing I did not want to take that chance.
  10. Yes if you are willing to buy a car with > 100k miles, which I wasn't
  11. I bought my daughter a 2005 Vibe. It is the best car we have owned... Seriously.
  12. Here you go: http://m.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?p=17421149#post17421149
  13. Love the looks of the G35 coupe but not the sedan. Calling a G35 coupe a 4 seater is a stretch. You can get into a nice CTSv for 16-18k. There is one on LS1tech right now with heads/cam and some nice wheels for 17k. Unfortunately it is in Colorado. I absolutely love mine. I will find the link. Note the CTSv rear end is weak and will break if you drag race it. There are bullet proof options but they are very pricey... Being a fabricator though you can probably do it yourself.
  14. For the longest tume I thought my 2002 Chevy Suburban Z71 had a lifter going. The motor "clacks" when started and becomes more of a "tick" when warmed up - definitely from the drivers side. No codes, drives fine, no misses. Yesterday I noticed the top of the last exhaust manifold bolt appears to be sheared off. There is also some discoloration around that connection indicating it is leaking. I am pretty sure that is my problem. So, can that bolt be drilled out and an insert put in or do the heads have to come off? Thankfully since it is a suburban it is relatively accessible but probably more than I want to tackle on my own.
  15. No, but you will have a tough time finding a better all around car for the money. The motor is bulletproof and the tranny (only common problem I am aware of that is of any significance) are easy to come by and cheap. I loved mine and it was only a GT (no supercharger).
  16. And how dumb I was for passing it up...
  17. I regularly pull my 6500 pound travel trailer with my 1500 Suburban with the 5.3. No issues
  18. I will try to get some pics this week...work is kicking my butt and hard to keep a black car clean especially when it is your DD. Brian is right, total PITA but oh so nice when clean!
  19. I had Andy tackle my 2005 CTSv this weekend for an exterior detail. While I thought the finish was in pretty decent shape going in, he took it to a whole other level. I know this is useless without pics - you'll have to take my word for it for now. Besides everyone has seen a black CTSv Thanks for your professionalism and great work Andy!
  20. This. My wife is a realtor and is having trouble finding houses for her buyers in some areas. Her buyers generally have to lose 2 or 3 houses to other bids before they realize the "deals" out there are not as good as they once were. Demand is up, supply is down, simple economics. It is still a good time to buy though as prices have not really recovered totally but they are headed in the right direction.
  21. I am already looking at 2nd gen CTSvs so maybe you will be ready when I am done with mine
