It is an awesome show - several hundred cars. They open up the street to allow the cars to cruise - more fun than seeing them sit still. I have been the last 5 years but am not going to be in this one - going to the Indian Uprising show (all Pontiac) on Sunday.

It freakin rained the whole time. I was soaked and freakin cold. It was worth it though - I took home Best In Show - Firebird / Trans Am

I will be at the overpriced Arthritis Foundation show getting scoffed at by Ferrari owners.

You're right I don't get it. Rather than trying to determine if someone is licensed to carry or not it is just easier to say they are not allowed in bars. Given the 0 tolerance on blood alcohol this should be a no brainer. How many people in a bar are DD and are not drinking anything? Just playing the odds here.

Thank you all for the info. It was just what I was looking for. The key is for 15K I can pay my other 2 cars off. That being said I can afford the payments just trying to purge all debt as I have learned my lessons from past mistakes. I know however that if I sell it I will be out of the car game - as an owner anyways - for a while. Honestly I was figuring about 15K but just wanted a 2nd or 32nd opinion! I also appreciate the advice on the financial planner but I think I will be his worst nightmare. I have an accounting degree with an econ mgmt minor, a CPA license, and 6 years as a salesman. I can smell BS from a mile away. Thanks again for all of your input - if I come to the decision to put it on the market I will certainly start here as I am sure it could find a good home.

I know you all probably hate these threads but I have a meeting with a financial planner this week and one of the things he wants to know is the worth of my car. I have kicked around selling it for about 2 years but have not been able to bring myself to do it. I have grown up a bit and am now looking to my financial future and, depending on what it's worth, I need to make a decision. (i.e. if it is worth 9K it is not worth selling but if it is worth 30K - I know it's not by the way just an example - it would be sold) I want your independent opinion as I am afraid mine will be a bit biased. I have done research on LS1Tech and while you can see what people are asking it does not say what they sold for. I have also not found a comparable car to mine. They are either highly modified or < 10K mile stock cars. I know in the end it is only worth what someone will pay for it but your opinions are welcome here! It is a 2002 WS6, 44K miles, 6 speed with all options. I am the 2nd owner and have had it since 8K miles. It is a cam / bolt on car. Has a very small street cam in it with hooker longtubes, offroad y-pipe, and Corsa exhaust. The valvetrain was upgraded when the cam was installed. I have all of the parts except the exhaust to take it back to stock. I just want to make an educated decision on this one - I do not need to sell it but it may be worth selling to accelerate my financial plans. White would be way down on the list of colors if I was going to buy a ZR1. However, I must say even if you painted it pink that car is hawt.

Wait until you have less than 6 months left. they will call you and ask you what you intend to do. Tell them you are going to drop it off and walk. When they ask you how many miles say about 45000 - under the allowable miles. When they ask what condition it is in say perfect - nothing to worry about charges wise. See the bank does not want it back unless they can hit you up for some serious fees. I used this method recently and bought out my Suburban for less than half of what the lease buyout was.

LOL - there is nothing cheap to modify on that car. No to mention you gotta upgrade the tranny to do anything to it. You can only cheat physics for so long - the GTR weighs over 500#'s more than the Vette and, I venture a guess that the Vette's center of gravity is lower as well. The only thing the GTR has over the Vette is the AWD.
