  1. I want to go back to work. I want a badass 401k, but I’m not a gambling man and if my pulmonologist tells me to keep my ass home, I’m gonna kick and scream to do that until I’m advised it’s ok. I also understand by looking overseas and in NY, that it’s a GOOD thing we don’t see overflowing hospitals. That means if and when it hits home, there may be room for me there if I need it. That (to me anyway) is priceless and well worth my 401k, because as I said earlier, that 401k is useless if I’m in a morgue dead.
  2. I've been on the lookout for a while myself, mainly for a pure budget one and haven't found anything yet. In my experience, summer is the worst time because people on the fence will just start using them and are less likely to sell. At the end of the season seems to be the sweet spot if you have the means to snag one as people likely get tired of maintenance, storage or flat just want to unload and/or upgrade.
  3. Yes, and i'm for this. And if we "stagger" the pace at which people return it will help slow the spread while trying to get everything going forward again. Now if they do testing and can handle that in volume, let the people who have the antibodies go for it no holds barred. I'd jump back in full force if I knew I had it and was asymptomatic. Until that time though, my thought is we need to creep back slowly because if we rush back without thought it will just spike again and we'll be back to square one.
  4. I don't think it is either, but if I can delay ME getting it until the hospitals have the room and capacity to treat me should I need to go there, I plan to.
  5. I'm still at work. Luckily all I've done has been remote thus far, but the pressure to get out there is mounting. Why should I have to "get back out there" because I got dealt certain cards and every one else wants to bolster their 401k? My 401k can burn in a fire for all I care, it's useless if i'm dead and can't enjoy retirement.
  6. agreed EDIT: if it were you or a personal loved one, no price would be too high to pay for them to remain alive and reasonably healthy IMHO. easy for one to say from the outside, but as a 43 yo who was initially diagnosed with COPD from my time working in a steel mill, there wasn't anything I personally could have done to prevent it. I wore a mask where required by my employer, I followed all safety rules and still ended up with poor lung health years later due to bad employer decisions. Sadly now that employer is bankrupt, out of business, gone like a fart in the wind and i'm left here with one of said underlying causes due to no carelessness of my own. How is this MY fault? Why should I have to accept it and just move on? I didn't smoke up my lungs willingly to get poor lung health.
  7. But it's this thinking that's landing many 30-50 year olds in the morgue too.
  8. My current chair is the cheapest one they had at one of the office box stores about 15 years ago. It is severely worn out and tattered but the sitting position is great. If I could get it refoamed I would in a second. I bought a nicer one from Amazon a bit back but it was terribly uncomfortable with a weird sitting position so I pitched it. I'm always leery about buying one I can't out my ass in and try it out.
  9. I can’t remember if it was in one of his books or when he was on stern but he talked about the damage over washing and hand sanitizer did to his skin and hands. I’ll google and see what I can come up with but it escapes me right now. Old age n shit. Edit: still googling but I think it was on stern where he talked about his hands being raw and needing gloves all the time. He had to have skin grafts or something to help repair the skin on his hands. From here: https://abcnews.go.com/2020/howie-mandel-public-obsessive-compulisve-disorder-fear-germs/story?id=9153966
  10. I try to limit my hand sanitizer use. I’m a big fan of howie mandell and his story on what hand sanitizer did to him has me weary of overuse.
  11. This is my thought as well. If they can manage antibody testing and ramp up testing overall, those who have already had it will be allowed to return to normal. Those that haven't will remain isolated until a vaccine is available.
  12. That's pretty much what I see over here. Many are basically going about normal routines while I just sit inside.
  13. We had a couple companies come in over here for estimates and the lowest was over $20k. We decided the little bit seeping in every so often is manageable for now.
  14. Part of the issue I had was I couldn’t find an exhaust I really cared for so the stock with cutouts was the simplest option. Nice and quiet until I opened the cutouts. The other issue was probably the rasp of no cats. The only thing that kept that in check was the stock muffler. I actually went through several different catbacks and usually ended up putting the stock with cutouts back on due to the raspy drone. I tried adding cats as well but I never got the right combination.
  15. Ffs We got it already, you don’t like em. Some do.
  16. I loved mine because I left the stock exhaust on it and the car was so quiet you couldn't tell it was modded at all. But you hit that switch and it sounded like hell was going to eat your soul.
  17. I had them on my old 2002 camaro and loved them. I went through a couple manufacturers until I got a reliable one though.
  18. WTF.... all I see is "Attachments Pending Approval"
  19. I'm waiting for something to come down for myself but haven't heard much yet as I've been disconnected. I normally WFH often so not much has changed from me, except the exaggerated expectation that now I can do more.

  21. The problem is much manufacturing was shipped over seas. We simply can’t make things like we used to. In order to tool back up to manufacture is a costly process and many companies will struggle financially with all the downturn, add retooling to manufacture on top and I can’t see it being a reality.
  22. That's one of my biggest fears now. Where i'm at, healthcare on a daily basis is severely limited. If you add this on top of it they can't handle anything over a sprained ankle as it is, if I got it i'm WAY more likely to succumb because the care here is undertrained and inadequate on a daily basis. I mean, D doctors have to go somewhere right? Unfortunately, we end up with them it seems.
