Also forgot data logging and I have a camera in the grill for sprited driving and such that will record right to the hard drive and then just upload to my server automatically when I get home. I can also set up a camera to record while I park my car to monitor it and upload snapshots via 3G with a dummy phone so pretty cool security too haha

Still can do more on it easily and sometime quicker. You can do the usual gps, Internet, music, videos, make calls, an also do obd diagnostics, satellite radio, games if you were so inclined lol. I'm sure I'm missing a few but mostly its just what you want to do and ease of use. Sure a smartphone will do most of that but sometimes with more effort and a car pc is molded right on your dash so it's also easier to look at than a phone is.

Few ways it can be done the easiest if there is an existing head unit with an AUX in you just route the audio from the car Pc outputs to the inputs. Second way is get a amp they make for car pcs to just power the speakers that way. I have done both and each has it's downsides.

damn wish i would have seen this earlier, I have built and customized many a carpc and they are neither clunky or anything anymore....I custom make them to fit into a case a little smaller than the 6 inches by 6 inches and normally just tuck inside the dash. I had a similar issue at my old place, I went down to talk to him and he would never answer the door. So I took it a few leaps forward: JB welded his locks shut when he left, always funny to listen to someone have to break down a door to get into their own apartment and then have to pay to fix it, turned off the AC breaker outside when he left for the day so it would get super hot and also turned off the power to his unit. Also got all his info and posted signs saying he was a registered sex offender. All quite priceless

adobe premier and AVID I have a 32 gb class 10 Extreme card and works great

the hero 2 is all the same camera just different mounts, depending on what you are using there are a ton of mounts and such, the LCD backpack is great for framing up shots or seeing what is going on and the battery pack is great for extra battery life. I have used these for quite some time and for how much the cost they amazing tools. They are soon releasing a pro tune firmware that will allow for higher data rates and clearer images, so that will be sweet as well
