Megs 105 Menzerna powergloss Poorboys SSR 3 medium polishing - Menzerna IP Zaino ZPC Poorboys SSR 2.5 Megs 83 fine polish -- MEnzerna SIP Poorboys SSR3 Sealants - Poorboys EX-P Zaino z2 optimum optiseal Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0 Wax- poorboys Nattys blue or red Meguiars #26 followed by Meguiars NXT Pinnalce XMT 180 high gloss
  3. you can still see the the pitch on the gear by using the paint though.. if it doesnt have a smooth contact then somethign isnt right

  5. o it has a whine/ whirring noise from the rear when driving .. like the pinion bearing needs replaced, but the only reason i think its not the pinion bearing is because its noticeable all the time and not just when there isnt a load on the rear. usually if you stay in the gas some the noise will go awway if the pinion bearing is bad. i know i could count the wheel /driveshaft deal, but i was gonna change the fluid and re seal it anyway, since it was leaking a tad. and i am going to check the run out on the gear, i just didnt have any paint handy. after i do that, ill post pics and more info..... thanks guys its a 4.10... its stamped on there, and you can just tell.. 2500 or so when at 65...
  6. i pulled the cover off to check what gear is in the car, and it seems to be a 4.10 now my issue is thus.. turn the tire, and its kind of rough to turn, hits a spot and its free and smooth for a second then back to rough.. most of the time is kind of tough to turn. now i dont know, but im assuming its shimmed incorrectly on the axel bearings??? anybody have some input and on a side note, i just cant understand that there is 4.10s in the car, i have driven a few fox body cars with 4.10s and this car just doesnt feel the same. gearhead can attest to it, he drove it sunday. and though it had stock gear in it.
  7. you really do not need to use a buffer with any product your using. except maybe the meguiars step 2 which is a polish. and using a cleaner wax is really unnecessary. and your kind of defeating the purpose. a cleaner wax is kind of like an all in one type of product. when you use the meguiars step 2, polish your removing the wax that was put on in the previous step. loose the zymol. you can use meguiars step one, which is a paint cleaner, then step 2, and then a good carnuba, the step 3 meguiars carnuba will work. i have good success with the meguiars 3 step. for something you can buy at your local autozone its not a bad product. and claying is not an every wash type situation. examine the condition your paint is in and go from there. plastic bag over your hand and feel the paint.. if its ruff youll probably want to make a run with the clay bar. also get your self a grit guard for that bucket, and ditch the microfiber sponge, get something with a little more nap to it, its more forgiving and traps more in the fibers deeper less harm to the paint. and make sure you rinse that thing out after your done real good. and grab another bucket and sponge for severely dirty areas. if youd like some suggestions on some higher end products id be more than happy to elaborate.
  8. well since we really dont have a big group yet, im thinking of just holding off and getting a new date on this.. my stang will be out of comission anyway... pulled the tranny tonight swapping another in on thursday, but saw it needs a rear main seal, so i figure i better do that why im at it, and then i pulled the cover off the rear, and the gears seem a little tight, so i may be re setting them up as well. along with fixing a leaking power steering issue.

    miller ill probably be picking those LCAs up, but first i have to get my tranny. so if you dont rid of them in a week or so, ill be buying them.

  15. came across this for some odd reason from searching for something.. then took me to a forum, and had a link for this. http://www.team.net/sol/tech/octane_b.html basically shows how to make race gas. breaks down what is in octane boosters, and what not and shows you what you need to make race gas for a fraction of the cost. you can make 3 gallons of 98.6 octane for roughly $10.90 using a 70/30 sunoco 92/ toulene mix they show you other variations of chemicals and ratios on there as well.

  17. also...i may be able to swing an out of town car show/ meet up at my uncles shop if we plan to go that way. he is a big drag racer. also there is a 1/8th mile drag strip that is open on saturdays as well. so there is alot of options we can do. we need to narrow things down. a nice full day of car fun would be nice. Bikes welcome too

Adam id like to see a bigger crowd than this.. so lets get this thing hyped up. any suggestions on routes and place to meet in the morning for breakfast?? i have a route in mind, im still looking into it though. and still have to check with the owner on seeing if we can get a little racing in at the airport.
  19. kick ass adam im hoping i get the new tranny and installed by friday so i will have no shifting issues. right now i have a hard time downshifting in 4th and 3rd without a grind
  20. i have a lead on 2 as of now.. and if you want you can help. i have had a few t5s out in my day as well.. and no tranny jack needed just bench press it right into place lol

  22. i try to be a perfectionist when detialing customer cars.. my own.. ehh.. i just dont have the time. or by the time im done with everyone elses car im not motivated enough to spend the time on my own.
