  1. yeah, i gotcha. i had it at bicycle one in gahanna and the guy was saying the shifters were worth about as much as i paid for the whole bike...i thought he was just trying to make me feel better. lol but i wouldnt mind a new bike...we'll see.
  2. fuuuck that. you know what i paid for this bike with clipless pedals 2 years ago? $325...at that kind of price for a damn shifter, i may just pick up a new bike and see if i can part out this one or sell it whole
  3. lower? isnt tiagra/105 kinda middle of the line (above sora/2200, below ultegra/dura ace)...im probably just gonna take it up there tomorrow and let him look at it...i didnt have an issue with any of those things until after the service...really the main thing i wanted done w/ that was to get the wheels trued, degreased/cleaned cogs, new brake pads, and the derailers adjusted just a bit (the front was rubbing on the chain no matter how i set it). how much are new shifters?
  4. triple, shifters just say "shimano, flight deck, tiagra"
  5. took my Jamis Ventura (9sp, STI shifters, tiagra/105 components) to bike source to get the "delux service" a couple weeks ago...yesterday, first ride since (weather)... i had my headphones in most of the time, but when i took them out, i hear a clicking at the same point in the pedal rotation. it sounds like its inside the tube/frame. i cant find anything (derailers, pedals, chain, etc) thats hitting then, about 1/2 mile before the end of my ~28 mile ride, i was going down a little bit of a hill, and my front derailer stopped working...the cable went loose, the derailer arm was pressed against the crank...got home, the cable isnt broken, it was still connected to the derailer so i took the front derailer off, put it back on, got the cable tightened back down...when i try to shift to the mid sprocket, it moves about 1/2 way to it, and stops...if i click it again, it does nothing...if i move the lever to go back up to the large sprocket, it moves fine its hard to explain since im not a bike mechanic...but it wont shift down to the mid or small sprocket. rear derailer is working fine. both front/rear brakes are working fine
  6. so...anyone know about bicycle mechanics i can pick your brain before i take it back to bike source tomorrow?
  7. Check those links and see my path...id like someone to ride with but its usually a last min decision to ride
  8. http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/31135506 28.24 miles today...thought i was doing GREAT (for myself) for my trip from easton to galena, did 13.20 miles in 47:55, and as soon as i turned around, i found i had a good bit of help from the wind...it was no longer a help going southbound. kicked my ass. sleep will be NICE here in about 10 minutes. got some strength built though im sure...riding in the wind is no joke.

  11. im not even a domestic lover, but i want that. holy shit
  12. edit - called up there, talked to a girl, then a guy (owner maybe?)...he wanted to come out tomorrow and sweep the glass...explained to him the bits of glass wasnt my issue, its the stink my car is going to have for the next few days...ended up getting 20% off (~$30) for the troubles...next time though (hopefully there is no next time...lol), i'll probably go with someone else
  13. sears hardware store at county line rd and sunbury rd usually has a good selection...see if you can find a standard equivilent as well.
  14. so i ended up going with this company due to it being the lowest price i could find, and the fact i dont really care too much about my DD, so i wasn't wanting to spend anymore than i had to. right now, im kinda wishing i spent the extra $20 and took it to the other place i was planning on going to saturday morning. talked to discount auto glass on friday, told me $150 to replace the rear quarter glass, they'd come to my work monday, and itd take 30-45 minutes. explained to them that i was in training at my new job and couldnt leave that for any reason besides my breaks/lunch, and if they could do a 12 o'clock, that'd work. get a call come to my work phone at about 10:55...didnt pick it up (since we're not taking calls in training), but i figured it was them. noon comes, i run outside, see him waiting by my car...let him into the car, told him i was gonna run in, grab some lunch, and would come back out in about 1/2 hour. come out about 12:35-12:40 (when it was pouring down...when i went out at 12 it was just a sprinkle/light rain) and i see my rear door cracked open, and the rear window was not in. hopped into the guys van, gave him my card information, and had to go back into training...he said about 10 min the glass would be ready to go in. come out after work, window doesnt look horrible, looks like there is still some broken glass behind the window (once i got home, i realized it was in the weather stripping type stuff and i was able to get it out). get into my car to leave work, and as soon as i get in, it smells like mildew. half of my front seat was wet, and the rear passenger seat is soaking wet. get home and pulled into the garage, notice there are probably a dozen or more pieces of broken glass on my seat that were just left there, and i know they werent there this morning because i swept the shit out of the car saturday to get rid of all the glass, so this was all from him working on the car so im not too thrilled. i know my car is going to stink for the next few days, ive got more glass to clean up from the installer doing his work. only reason i dont give an F is because it was the lowest price i found, and they came to my work.
  15. another consumer report stemming from the break in...today i started to install my old car stereo ive had up in my closet for ~4 years...i realized that the metal "cage" type thing that goes around the unit and clips into the mounting kit is gone...i have no idea where it would have been, as i couldnt even see myself taking it off the stereo. so i run down the road to CCA, tell him of the part im looking for (thinking they wouldnt have it), he said they can order it, then says he might have one...he goes over to a room off the side of the showroom, picks one up, and said i should be able to get it to fit. $10. went over to the counter, he looked at it, and said "you know what, just take it". like yesterday i was stunned again, asked him if he was sure, and he said yeah. i think it was gonna get pitched, but either way, they helped me out with a part i didnt think they'd even have. thanks again CCA!
  16. anyone who will get on the ground to take pictures of a quarter stuck under his car could have gotten under to show any damage... weak april fools joke

    Keltec - A+++

    so as some of you may have seen, when my car got broken into a couple nights ago, one of the only things the retards took besides my cd player was the assembly pin to my PF9 that i had in my change jar (gun was disassembled and i pitched it in there to keep from losing it) so i called my g/fs grandpa who is a gunsmith, and he said easiest thing would just be to call keltec directly and order it from them. called them on my break today, talked to a very nice woman, explained my situation to her and that i needed to get a replacement pin to put my gun back together. she asked for my shipping address, and said she'd get one sent out. i asked how much the piece was going to run me, and she said she was going to ship it to me for free! no shipping charges, nothing. amazing customer service, especially considering i'm not even the original owner of the gun. the woman was very pleasant, helped me with my problem in just a couple minutes, and is sending me a free part. its too bad not every company will provide great service like this (referring to the service side...i know not everyone can afford to give free parts and ship for free, even if it is a relatively cheap part/cost little to ship) A+++ keltec :bangbang:
  18. Set up for monday...thanks. thats $20 less than the place i called earlier and set up an appointment with for tomorrow am...when i called back they wanted to match the price to keep my business...told her i was gonna stick with the place in bexley since they offered me a lower price without having to match someone else.
  19. Lol...spend $200 on a used keltec and keep that gun for winter carry
  20. eh, its the same neighborhood. is there another car at your house that has tags like "dirte30" or something like that? nm...i remember where i saw that car...you live up by my buddy who died a couple years ago's moms house. shes right on rice, like 2 houses from howland...i was thinking of a house down on harmony with a couple e30's
  21. anyone else? figured i'd buy the glass, and when i called the place on the card the guy gave me, $20 if i pull the glass, $85 if they do it..fuuuuck.
