  1. this is the other reason i wasnt happy with my slab...when i remodeled my kitchen, i wanted to move my sink, but with the drain pipe and water lines encased in cement, that would have consisted of jackhammering the shit out of my kitchen...it was already gutted so it wouldnt have been a HUGE deal, but not something i wanted to do.
  2. my house never really felt cold, just the floors when i walked on them in the winter...this year though, after the subfloor panels, everything was fine
  3. Does your dishwasher not have feet on it you can adjust up/down to get tile under there too? And os the laminate under there that you gotta rip up? thatd give you some room to work with too
  4. My house is a 3 level split, main floor on slab. Slab floor got a bit colder in winter, but when i remodeled, i put down subfloor panels to insulate it. Better now
  5. i like it, although, i can't get the feel for 1911's. ive held quite a few and just dont like it.
  6. ouch...funny because its true.
  7. Westerville and gahanna are good
  8. So if my free month i got when i bought my xbox isnt up for 2 weeks, this would start then? If so, score!

just to clarify, no, you didn't. i told you i was looking for stamped concrete. you tried to steer me away from it saying it would cost "a lot more", and tried to push me towards a basic swirl finish...when i finally got the quote from you, you quoted me for the swirl finish, which is EXACTLY what i told you i didn't want...had you quoted me for stamped, i probably would have spent the extra $200 to support a CR member. but i don't see how im trashing you in the threads when i mention someone else who did exactly what i wanted for less money than you wanted for a far less superior work...i never said you ripped me off, i just said i got a better price elsewhere...if someone is looking at a car and dealer A sells it for $30k but dealer B sells it for $25k, are people trashing dealer A for speaking of dealer B? every time someone comes here asking about concrete everyone says "SAM!", yet i would be willing to bet that all but a few of those people have never even had you out for an estimate, let alone had work done by you. and i love that you make it a big deal that you gave me a "free estimate"...guess what, so did the other 4 guys i had out here...and it took you all of what? a drive here and 3 minutes? the guy i ended up going with sat out back with me for a SOLID 30 minutes, explained how things would be done, materials that would be used, what would be done on what days, pictures of previous work, etc etc. very thorough. its not that im mad, its that im giving people other options to pursue. im happy with what i had done, why would i not plug this guys name when people ask, and mention my interactions with other companies/individuals? ive spoken to others here who have gotten estimates and they have also made mention that your prices seem a bit higher than theyve gotten elsewhere.

i guess i didnt type it out the way i was thinking it late last night...i was thinking of it as "why not offer the best price from the get go"...my bad. but i will say, i hate shit like that...for example, i went and looked at a gun at vances, then went to gander mountain...GM was like $50-60 more, and they said they'd beat vances price. you know what though, i would rather spend the few dollars more from the vendor who offered me the best price from the start, and not someone who has much higher prices, then has to offer to beat someone else to get the business rick - thanks...i need to get some updated pics now that i have the bricks for the pit ring in place, new grill, new patio furniture, and my wood rack. im definitely happy with it.

heres mine i had done 2 summers ago...its ballin. $8/sq ft which was really cheap (even compared to some cr members who do concrete full time that i asked for an estimate, and wouldnt even give me a quote for a stamped pattern, but still came in $200 more overall for a basic swirl finish than i ended up getting the whole thing done for). shawn kirk - 614-596-9742 that whole patio was $3200, its right at 400 sq/ft (16x20 rectangle, 10' fire pit circle off the corner, 2x3 grill area off the side) http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70955&highlight=patio
  14. after you run, do 2 sets of 25 of these... my buddy is a trainer at the gym, and is a cross country runner, so i listen to him when it comes to running. this helped my shin splints A LOT...he said just to do them leaning on a wall with my feet just slightly in front of me, and basically just pull your toes up. first time i could barely get my toes off the ground...i can get them up a bit more now. plus, you might be landing on your heel when you run and slapping your foot down, which will give you shin splints. i used to do this too...idk if i just kinda forced myself to run correctly to where i didnt do it anymore, or if the inserts kinda threw my balance forward just enough that i stopped, but i dont slap my feet down anymore.

  16. lol...i was on COD tonight with my buddy and paul joined us, and my buddy said something about his WRX and paul says "so, uh, you wanna get dragged around by a neon?"...i died laughing...i guess its not just on the internetz.
  17. dont need to go to any place special right away...im super flat footed and couldnt run for shit, being on my feet long hurt...i did the dr. scholls machine at meijer, got the ones that fit me (CF440, and they go from like 110 to 440 IIRC, and i was at the end of their range) and just the other day i ran 3.21 miles in 30 minutes without stopping to walk or anything...2 months ago before getting those, 1 mile would kill me, shin splints out the ass. they were VERY MUCH worth the $49.99
  18. 4gb nano, couple generations ago, its pink, $40
  19. just keep it...even if you got say $200 out of it, is that going to make or break you getting a car? then what happens when you dont want to go drive somewhere and would rather play xbox? youd be SOL
  20. anyone have a finish air nailer I could borrow for a day or 2? mine decided to take a crap on me and I still haven't been able to get it fixed and it would really help me to have one for something I'm working on tomorrow. Gahanna/easton/westerville area would be great. I can stop by in a couple hours TIA
  21. not to mention, I drive by that car almost daily and just the other day noticed that the exhaust is rusted off right before the muffler and the can is sitting on the ground. See it at caroway and helmbright in gahanna
  22. lol...basically. and tomorrow i get to spend the whole day laying laminate floors. lucky me.
  23. ugh...went to the concert at screamin willies and got trashed...feeling it now. not fun.
