What i found out doing that ride along a few weeks ago is that you're not even required to have your license on you when driving. As long as they can locate your info and id you (ie; dont give them bs info...lol) you'll be fine.

+1...i have a household sized shredder if you want to borrow it...i normally shred junk mail and stuff and keep a trash bag of shredded papers to start fires in my fire pit out back.

the BPAD test...my buddy was telling me a little about it, and i searched youtube and found a few examples of it. he said its really there to weed out the idiots. he was talking about one i saw on youtube where a womans baby died, and you have to get the baby from her and preserve the scene...he said one guy said some shit like "oh you're still young and good looking, you can have another kid, the baby wasn't even that old so you didnt have much time to get very attached to it" LOL he was saying when you take it, youre supposed to talk directly to it, and not be like "well, this is what i would say". you just have to say it like you're talking to a person infront of you. but he said it can be a little tricky because you can't ask the video a question because its not going to respond to you. i wonder if they have that for a dispatch position...hmm.

so the test was actually less than what i expected. a section of "which is the best option for this situation" type things, a section to write a report, and a "reading" section which was more of "choose the best word for this spot"...that part kinda threw me off because i was trying to read the sentence to figure which word goes there, but most of the time, there were several words missing...i really thought i was about to bomb that section but i think i ended up doing well i guess we get the results back on the 10th or 11th and it'll give us our individual ranks but get this...200 people was the limit for the test. how many people showed up? 127...you would think that people who werent going to show up wouldn't have even applied and given that opportunity to someone who wanted it...oh well though. works for me as it immediately eliminated ~37% of the competition... 1 out of 127.

lol...ive got 2 cats each over 15lbs. its funny though because for both of them for a day they get a normal sized coffee cup of food. no snacks, nothing. vet told me "they're not really fat, they're just big cats". i guess...haha

Thats *exactly* what the other cop was saying the day i did the ride along...he said wih all the mandatory OT, theres some doing 6 figures...it ranges from 19.xx-25.xx/hr IIRC...i wasnt banking on that, but you being the 2nd person to tell me that sounds sweet...im just curious as to how many people they have taking the exam for that position edit...if theres that much earning potential there, i may just not even worry about a PO spot...lol

just to update...i paid the $18 for this "practice test" a few days ago...it was literally 6 videos, with 4 options of "which is the best response for this situation", then a video of a mock accident, interviews, then "here is a well written report"...it was the shittiest "practice test" ive ever seen...especially since the full test is supposed to be 3 hours, and this was ~10 min. but ive also got the exam for columbus for a police dispatch position i applied for after hearing about it the night i did the ride along...that isnt until 2/18 though

probably not...reading around online, people have swapped in brand new batteries and the issue is still present. thanks, but IMO, you're an idiot. like i said, the computer does everything i need it to do. theres no sense in buying a whole new computer or a "real" computer. theres always solutions to problems, and buying a new computer is an expensive, and stupid solution. ill get this fixed one way or another. it just may take some time.

hmm...so i wonder if a new battery would even help then. i unplugged this at 17 minutes ago and its already down to 74%...just odd since it just started happening...its not like its been progressively getting worse, it was just BOOM. done.
