    Lowes

usually, i like lowes. lately, not so much about a month or so ago, i was contemplating replacing my front door. went to lowes, got a quote for one door, home depot quoted me a lot less for basically the same thing, and a lot quicker (like $440 @ lowes, and 3 weeks vs $290 at HD, and like 5 days). the guy at lowes said they dealt with a company who made the size door i needed, 2" shorter than standard, but he couldnt get ahold of them because it was late on friday. said he'd call me monday with the price on that one monday comes, it wasn't much less than their original quote (like $390). i told him that i'd probably end up going with home depot when i got around to doing it, since i would save over $100. well, he calls me a few days later saying they can do the first door for like $270. cool. by this point the bit of nice weather mid nov was gone. i told the guy i'd let them know when i was ready to do the door, since im not going to knock out the whole door in this cold as hell weather well, since then, im getting at least 2 messages a week, wanting to know if i am still interested in the door. same thing every time, he gives his number and hours. getting real old now. one would think that since i told him once "ill get with you guys once im ready to do this project", and then ignoring all phone calls and messages for a month, that they'd get the idea.
  5. Ha...just bought 2 of those at autozone last week...like 5 bucks for the pair or $3 each
  6. I used keith karr a year or so ago on advice from the chiroprator my mom works for.
  7. i guess i could just check with him tuesday while im over there. haha but searching, heres what i saw a while back.. http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=158739&highlight=teeth+speedometer
  8. no, i think its a speedo gear that needs to be changed out...im looking for the link again, but IIRC, its only a ~$10 part, and i just need a new one with more or less teeth.
  9. that just shows what everything is actually at...i wanna get my truck fixed so if my speedo says im doing 65, im doing 65. lol...right now if it says im doing 60, im doing 67.1
  10. i thought a while back i saw something about changing out a speedometer gear for one with more or less teeth to get the speedo correct in my explorer somewhere online. gettnig to the point driving it more that i'd like to get it corrected if its a cheap part and not hard to do the tires that came on the truck when i got it are BFG all-terrain t/a's, 30x9.5x15. the stock tire size as noted in the door is a 225/70-15. looking online, if what ive found is correct, the 30x9.5 comes up to around a 265/75, and is reading 12% too slow. thats a good bit. lol so do i need a speedo gear with one tooth more, one tooth less, or more than one tooth in either way? TIA

  15. wood will flex unlike cement board or similar. ask me how i know. we (mainly my g/fs dad, before i learned a lot of the stuff i know now) put tile down directly on like 3/4" particle board subfloor, and pretty much every bit of grout in there is cracked and needs redone. one of the tiles even cracked, and its in a spot where it doesnt get walked on (right next to the wall, between the toilet and the wall) the problem you may run into though is putting cement board ontop of the wood floor thats there, then mortar and tile on top, you'll have tile thats taller than the rest of the floor. then you'll get chipped tile edges, stub your toes, risk tripping on it, etc.
  16. I wouldnt...put your cds on an mp3 player and save the work of wiring it, and the extra weight, albeit minimal
  17. That sounds good...i can stop by to get it too if needed
  18. i can probably help you as well, and im not working now so i can come over whenever. you'll just need to rent a tile cutter as i dont have one. its not hard, and if you're doing a section that size, its about the size of my lower bath i did. tiling is one day, and grout is after the mortar/thinset...are you doing this on a concrete floor or wood?
  19. Edit...didnt get to pg2...i guess thats where it is if gpd came out
  20. That over by easton? I had to go to marysville today and didnt see it anywhere between easton/morse rd and dublin
