  11. DADS - day after drinking shits. last night i think i had 5 tall vodka and redbulls, which couldn't have been mixed any better. not too strong, yet not weak at all...i got a whole 3.5 hours of sleep, horrible shits and a hankering for a nap for about 4 hours. unlike you though, im at home, where i have my own throne
  12. i didnt really notice a difference when i filled up...since my gas gauge went out (and im not dumping money into fixing this POS), i fill up at around ~300 miles, and check the mileage, and i think even when i just filled it up monday night, i was at high 28 or low 29 mpg. you at work derek? if so, can you tell me how many hours it calls for to do the front wheel bearings? 2002 rio
  13. yeah, that doesnt sound good at all. the whole floating-all-over-the-road was shitty. glad thats over. im sure some new tires are in the near future for driving on them with so little air as much as i did good thing though, is im back to ~30+ mpg city instead of the ~13-14 on my explorer on a good day. now i just need to get the front wheel bearings replaced and ill be good to go.
  14. trigger locks arent going to work if you want it for home protection. a robber isnt going to wait for you to grab your key and take off the trigger lock they do have small safes though that you can use your own passcode, and get into it pretty quickly. as for a shotgun, i guess you would just need to keep it out of reach of the kids. something ive been considering (yet i dont need to since i dont have/want kids) is mounting a couple hooks on the inside wall of the closet above the door and hanging it there...that way its pretty much out of sight, kids will never get to it...idk how your closets are though...when i redid my bedroom, i have a 12' wall i made into a wall to wall closet and it has 2 sets of 2 24" doors as for guns, you cant go wrong with a remington 870 for a shotgun, many versions available, you should be able to get one with a ~21" barrel or so (dont know what WI laws say), and for a handgun, quite a few people on here own and reccomend a smith and wesson M&P. caliber is up to you. i like 9mm for the simple fact i can hold quite a few more rounds over 40/45, and decent hollow points will expand to cause a good bit of damage. id rather have that knowledge that i have extra rounds if i need them...your wife shouldnt have an issue shooting it either. they do come with 3 interchangeable backstraps for small/med/larger hands.
  15. it must be idiot month for me...ugh. so on my beater car, about 3-4 weeks ago, i notice that at all speeds, but more noticable at highway speeds, my car is handling like a wet noodle. it wasnt horrible to drive around town, but freeway scared the shit out of me. couple weeks ago, i started driving my explorer until i could look at the beater. finally get a chance to take it over to my buddies place, he seems to think its the sway bar or end link...there was a little flex to it, but i didnt think it seemed to be overly flexible...but it makes sense, i guess...i decided to get it up on my ramps today to check out things again, nothing seems out of place. go to look at the rear, happened to grab the rear tire, and it seems pretty low of air. get my gauge out, fronts are at like 24-25psi, kinda low, rears arent even registering the gauge . tried again, nothing. tire didnt really look flat, go to get air, gauge there says same thing...under 5psi. ouch so once i actually have some air, the car doesnt float all over the road...i still feel like a complete ruhtard for missing something so dumb. lesson learned.
  16. No...i had a guy pull infront of me while i was doing 45 when he was trying to turn left...with an atty, i got like $4200 plus my medical and paying off book value of my car, almost 2 years after it happened...ins companies dont pay out like they used to... I should add, ive gota bulging disc in my back from this that still gives me issues @ random 2.5yrs later..
