  1. The rail system in New Jersey is pretty decent as well. We took the train from Trenton (beginning of the line) to NYC (the end of the line) for $21 round trip with no ticket times. It took about an hour 15 on a Saturday morning. A train that went like Cincy->dayton-> Toledo Cincy->Columbus->Marion then split to northeast ohio or cleveland, with stops in bigger towns along the way would be GREAT.
  2. Ah... I call myself an idiot for only knowing half of the story, thank you for the links
  3. I take it you listened to a blurb of 610 this morning? 1 out of 10 in DETROIT are on food stamps is what was said And they were talking to truckers yesterday and the majority of the independants they talked to locally said "hell no I'm not going on strike, as much as I can't afford the fuel, I REALLY can't afford to not work"
  4. I thought the law said that they had to provide the card free of charge? I dunno....
  5. Wrong... If he is a key to the house you can ask him to leave, but if he refuses to you have to legally evict him.
  6. I see what you are saying, but the loan in a sense has nothing to do with the house. The loan is YOUR loan, with a lien on the house as an asset backing the loan. Look at a balance sheet and tell me where property falls and where loans fall. The house is an asset and the loan is a liability You can liquidate assets to pay liabilities. Just because you don't have $$ in your pocket from the house, that does not mean it is not a real asset
  7. The house is the asset the loan is the liability.. I will explain... You can sell off the house to pay off the loan... therefore the house will always = asset and the loan =liability. People really like to throw these words around and get away from what they really mean
  8. while getting your 13 14 or 15 would be great..... directors with over 150-300 employees are 14s.... and your intern program will take you 7 your first year, 9 your second, and you would be an 11 upon completion. from there you have to go grade to grade and perform for a year in that grade.... so to become a 13 you would first have to get your 12 (not easy) be a 12 for at least one year, then find an open 13 position and apply. many of the higher ups have nothing more than a bachelors
  9. the best thing about veteran preference is your RIF (reduction in force... or lay offs) status. basically if you complete your 3 year probationary period you will never be let go. and to the orig. poster.... be sure you get into a 7/9/11 position if you have a degree but not the experience to be an 11 immediately
  10. I work at DFAS which does the accounting for the larger defense agencies including DLA. DLA has 3 major supply centers, Columbus, Philly, and Richmond. the benefits are great, flextime is amazing, bldg 20 (DLA) has a great cafeteria. the bads... bad attitude by older employees that just want to retire. they think what they do is pointless, and have an overall bad attitude. everything in the govt sector is slow. decision making isnt delegatedto lower levels. dont expect to become a 13,14, or 15 because truly there arent too many out there. the base has great benefits and i really enjoy it.... my lifelong career? i dunno yet
  11. Cool, my friend is a Jet Blue attendant and she said they have the same planes and that skybus uses the 19" rule so that your bag will go in longways to save space.... but their $9.75/hour attendants wont care enough to say anything if it gets through security
  12. so Skybus says a carryon can be 9x16x19 and mine is 7x14x22.... think it will work or should i use a diff bag

  18. I think it is a mix of 3 things honestly... 1. Spy technology onboard that the gov't didn't want anyone to get if it survived re-entry 2. Flexing U.S. Military muscle by showing off 3. The backlash of spending $60 million and blowing it up is much less than that small chance that it hit in a populated area and killed, injured, caused lasting effects etc. to humans
  19. His dad is really sick, which is why he has a lot of bearing on the outcome
  20. You are missing the point... people are in fear of a recession so they are hoarding their money and not spending freely... this "extra" money is supposed to spur spending because of an extra check...it doesnt matter if they spend it on chinese goods or not, they are spending it in American stores, which will up the profits, which will increase consumer confidence. It's basic economics and if you think it won't have any effect at all, you need to do some studying.
  21. As long as flights are on time friday, I could care less.... Florida here I come
