I never ever had AC on a bus, ever. The bus driver just always had 2 fans blowing on them at all times. Maybe the newest buses do, but I have never ever been on a school bus that had AC

#1- School buses do not have AC. #2- 0 usage is still better than a slightly lower usage #3- yes they do turn the heat down a good amount on weekends. Ever leave the athletic wing of a high school and go into the academic wing during a sat night basketball game? freaking freezing in there The fact of the matter is, the schools have these calamity days worked into the schedule for a reason. They are going to use them when they see fit. When I was in high school our superintendent was from Minnesota, so we only got days off if 2 schools in the county closed. What is really weird is the first schools you see close are the schools out in the country, where hardly any kids walk to school, before you see schools in the burbs and city close, where tons of kids walk to school

No they won't let out any sooner, because the school just sticks with their schedule. Why do you think schools always had like "spring day" and stuff like that planned? Also, you are just saving money by closing for a snow day. lower utilities, no diesel use, etc. Teachers are on teh same salary snow day or not

My sister is a year older than you, and she remembers getting 1-2 days off per year due to cold weather back in the 70's and early 80's BTW, nobody loses any money on a snow day. Schools are required 185 days, and they schedule 190 just for snow days. Those 5 days off mean nothing

that is the thing you do not get, I never used Otterbein as an example of sending a kid somewhere where they may need a cell phone. Obviously the example went completely over your head, like I have tried to explain many many times, but you keep coming back to me trying to say a kid would need to go there. Mind you, Otterbein is in the middle of uptown Westerville, next to a large park, so 13 year old kids commuting past the campus would not be all that weird, it actually happens all the time. But you already knew everything about Otterbein...
