Ummm no I work for them. You know this. :confused:graemlins/slap.gif

Dave: The only thing I can say on the self-ported heads is that I hope they are done by someone that knows what they are doing and are flowed before and after to make sure that they will not make the car slower. If you are doing them yourself with a dremel I HIGHLY advise against it. Also make sure that whoever is doing it knows how to get more CFM while KEEPING THE VELOCITY UP. That is key. You can have heads that flow 600CFM but aren't worth shit if the velocity sucks. Like I said, make sure they are flowed. Lots of people get budget ported L67 heads and then get pissed when the motor makes less power. Removing metal does not automatically = power.

  2. For high power/high boost the INTENSE MLS gaskets rock. That's what I run. graemlins/thumb.gif

The GM gaskets are just fine for a moderatly modded motor. I dunno why the Felpro's are so expensive but they are no better than the stock GM gaskets.

Remeber Dave you can NOT reuse the head bolts, they are TTY bolts. Price the head bolts from GM, for just a bit more you can get our head stud kit. They are awesome. Also, just in case you have to pull the heads off again they are reusable.

Another note, you will need new rocker bolts as they are also TTY. We have a rocker install kit that includes everything you need to do the rockers. I recommend that also.

Why are you pulling the heads off?

This problem has been taken care of.

when are we gonna do lunch?

    Autographs are $100, Lunches are $500. :D

I'm going to be having a Grand Prix party at my new house after the first of the year. Keep an eye on the COCGP messageboard for info. smile.gif

  4. Yes, Scott had a 2.2l Blowzilla on the Bonneville. During our testing we have determined that there is no power to be gained from keeping the Blowzilla versus putting one of our MP112 kits on the car. So we are going MP112 on the Bonne now. The Blowzilla kit is for sale. smile.gif

Have your motor bored .010 over. .020 is the max you can safely and reliably go on the 3800. If you go .020 you will have no room for error if you pop a piston later down the road. I also reccomend that you pick up a set of forged and coated pistons from us. If you put stockers back in there you might as well not waste your time or money with any block work.

In my opinion you can spend this money elsewhere on something that makes a little more sense. I run 11.55 and make over 400FWHP with a 114k stock shortblock. You know how I do it? I run the car rich. Sure, I am giving up a little power running it rich... but I'm not tearing the motor down every weekend. It's a worthwhile tradeoff to me. Both times we have had my heads off we have been AMAZED at the condition of my motor. It looks like it has 20k on it. The secret is 5w30 Mobil 1 NO LATER than 3000 miles and after EVERY big race day and running the car rich. "Safe" is .920 O2's, most big dogs run .870-.890 O2's, I run .940-.960.

If I were you I would spend the money towards something that you KNOW will go boom with big power. The transaxle. I can tell you how much I love my INTENSE trans but it's reputation speaks for itself. smile.gif

I would keep that block as a spare if you blow the one you have. I have a spare stock shortblock here ready to go in when mine goes boom. If you are still going to do the work on it then I would check out this months issue of High Performance Pontiac. My buddy Chris White has a good, detailed writeup in there on building a 3800 SII block; he blew his the fuck up a while back. Check it out. smile.gif

  6. Let me give you a good start:

Get an autotap or a scanmaster, preferably autotap.

Do some WOT run and tell me what your Long Term (LT) fuel trims are @ WOT. What are the LT trims at idle? Crusing?

There is your first step, go get those and come back and we'll go to step two.

I've been running them in my suprcharged LS1 now for about 6 months and I love them. No problems, bogging, idling issues, and being on my 4th set in that time, that's saved me about $36 and prevented me from having to special order them like I did with the NGKs.

How can a 500hp car be wrong? :D

Gee I wonder who turned you on to Autolites?

Dude, the OEM coils should be WAY more than you'll ever need. The only other thing you can do is an MSD DIS system. But I wouldn't reccomend an MSD product to anyone I like. The DIS boxes are known to fail a LOT. The only Grand Prix I know running one has the DIS box fail on him I think going on six times. He's had six of those bastards!

Stick with the OEM coils, a good set of wires , and a good set of plugs and you'll be just fine!

    Thanks!

    -=Oak=-

I dunno why, it's really very easy. But I would recommend any Pontiac dealer. No matter where you take it you are going to get screwed... might as well take it to someplace who works on the same cars all day. smile.gif
  11. The half-shaft is so simple to replace it's almost childish. You will get two new CV's outta it too. Should run you about $100 and you'll need to borrow an axle puller from Autozone or it'll be a HELUVA lot harder. If you can do the wheel bearing you can do this. Get a hanes manual.

Also, make your way over to http://www.clubgp.com for an all GP owners club and message board. The local club (of which I am Vice President) is http://cocgp.clubgp.com and we'll have a message board up later this week. http://www.INTENSE-Racing.com for some go fast goodies. smile.gif

Oh, 12 second GP here. :D

  12. The Freeway Patrol are now sitting INSIDE of Downtown on I-70 where the speed limit is 55mph. I saw one sitting on the Mound Street/I70W onramp clocking with a another one about 1/8 mile away picking up the people the first cop clocked. You could NOT see the onramp cop until it was too late.

Late last night there was a cop on the merge space between I-70 and the Mound Sreet onramp on I-70W. It's kind of a hill you go over and he is waiting on the other side. Again VERY hard to see until it's too late.

BE CAREFUL! They are now finding ways of clocking inside downtownn where it's 55mph and if you are like me you are usually doing 70+ through there.
