I can attest that FRAM filters ARE indeed junk. In numerous tests they have completely failed miserably. They make good air filters, but their oil filters are complete and total shit.

What brand and model would you use? Why?
Just for arguments sake let's say it's going on a:
Buick 3800 V6, 8.5:1 comp ratio, FWD, 3.69 final drive ratio on the transaxle
I know we have quite a few supercharger experts so I wanted to see some thoughts. smile.gif

Mark, keep me updated please. There is a certain 4 door V6 that will need it's headers coated this winter and requires the same degree coating that you are looking into. (Damn M90!) smile.gifOriginally posted by Stolen UFO:My research has only been for a turbo car, but a 1600F coating would be borderline for me. The stuff I was looking at is rated to 2000F, and is a thermal barrier.

Just coat them in butter and be done with it.

I will definitely come over and laugh!Originally posted by Stolen UFO:Whenever you start putting the turbo in, I'll be happy to come over and help/watch/laugh, though. smile.gif

Heated = Yes
It is DIRECTLY across the street from the Autozone, we made good use of it last winter.
Marc, thank you for the offer. I have a garage this year I can work in, but I will prolly be there over the winter to help my boyz out.

We'll see soon. tongue.gifOriginally posted by Wease:I run RP in the Formula and it owns you, Chris. There is your answer...

I'm gonna get flamed for this but generally I change my oil every 2500 miles or after two race days. I know, I'm wasting money but who cares? $30 is better insurance for me to know my engine is happy. smile.gif
I'm gonna get Royal Purple this time and try it out. Here's a good question:
What weight should I run? The car will not be seeing winter except for maybe a quick romp one or two days if there isn't snow and or salt on the ground. Stick with 10W-30? What's best for performance?

LOL!!! smile.gif

Haha, that's funny.Originally posted by bigbabyjesus:If it's good enough for my car it's definitely good enough for yours.

I'm thinking of trying Royal Purple oil in the GTP. Does anyone have any good info about it? Anyone comapired it to Mobil 1?
Thanks. smile.gif

Why do you care?

If you try to have a healthy Alternator charge a totally or almost totally dead bettery IAD will occur.
IAD = "Instant ALternator Death"
Charge the battery first dude smile.gif

Well damnit! I need a helmet soon and I don't want to order one online...
Anyone know where to get an NHRA Approved Helmet?
-
Why the hell does Jegs sell M00 and SA00 approved helmets if you can't use them?
-
English?
Yes or No? graemlins/asshole.gif
-
Can I use an M00 Approved Helmet for NHRA 13.99 Helmet requirements?
Thanks smile.gif

I retract my post.

My vote goes for the Thermostat sticking. smile.gif
Ignore Berto, he's an idiot. tongue.gif

Right... if the transfer case doesn't work that means the FRONT WHEELS won't be able to pull. See, the truck is RWD with the 4x4 making it a 4WD. Duh. How many 4WD trucks are FWD with optional RWD to make 4WD? duh again. tongue.gif
suggested oil for ford modulars...
