Just missed you! We started out on June 2nd, so by the 8th we were in Burlington (which is beautiful, by the way, if you’ve never done Vermont you should). We were going to try the ice cream at the pond house, but the 10 miles left up the "bad" side of the carriage road kept us only eating light. We had some pretty decent ice cream in town at CJ's and then Mt. Dessert Island Ice Cream, though. We ate ice cream every day of the honeymoon (at least once a day, except for cheesecake day ). Did you get into any Bar Harbor Brewing Company beer? If you're a stout man, the BHBC stout is fantastic - I brought some home I loved it so much. Geary's was great, as was all of the Shipyard stuff. We toured the Shipyard brewery in Portland, along with 4 other smaller microbreweries and a larger one in Gloucester, MA (Cape Ann Brewing Company) along the trip. Good beer is kinda our thing.
The first day was GORGEOUS. The next three were a bit overcast and rainy, which was fine especially during biking in Acadia - if it was hot and sunny I probably would have died. The weather cleared up a bit the next day for our drive through Acadia; the following day it was wonderful until the end.
I can't wait to go back. I ate so much lobster (lobster rolls, drool...), clams, and chowder. Of all the chowder I ate, Cappy's was tied for 1st place with a joint in Portland called Gilbert's Chowder House. So good.
