I'm perfectly fine with it. If you think we haven't had undercover heavily-armed plain clothes officers in the subways then you're naive. The difference is taking them from the shadows and parading them around with machine guns and its effect on perception. Seeing teams of machine gun armed, specially trained officers with bomb dogs can only have a positive impact on the perception of any would-be evil doer. It's intimidating. This isn't different than traditional officers who have patrolled our subways for years, only now they're better trained and equipped to deal with the specific challenges of an attack on a subway. This isn't limiting anyone’s freedom, it's not increased spying, it's simply better equipping those we trust our lives with.

We're slowly switching to CFL's as bulbs burn in the house. Other than the obvious turning lights off, etc., my fiancée has got me recycling and using reusable shopping bags (though I insisted we pay a couple more dollars for made in the U.S.A. bags). We carpool about once a week, and while not a big deal, it's all about the small steps. If every family who could carpool would do it once a week then the impact would be huge. We also buy a lot of sustainable products, food, and produce.

Traxxas Nitro 4tec RC car, ready to run with radio etc. Comes with everything you see including three bodies (Skyline, generic, and custom-painted Grand Prix). The car is modded, I can't remember everything I did but I do remember it has a pipe, suspension mods, lower chassis is aluminum, etc. I put it away in a storage box about three years ago and just uncovered it. I DID fog the motor before storage, it ran very well and VERY fast (well above 80mph) before putting it away, but because it's been storage so long I would plan for a nice tune up and replacing the usual maintenance items. I can't guarantee it has everything I put it away with, something was bound to be lost over the course, but it's gotta be darn complete. I know the air filter is missing, it's about $2 at any hobby store. $150 picked up downtown during the day, or Galloway in the evening or weekend. I think I'm just going to go with the B's. I finally got to un-winterizing the car yesterday and while the B's aren't going to go as low as I really want, I don't want to introuduce a bunch of new problems or kill the ride. The goal here is to make the car MORE fun for me to drive, not less, and if it becomes a constant headache I won't want to drive it. Seeing if I can get a few good deals on used parts, if not, IPS will be taking care of my parts order.
