  1. My Dad is not able to drive cars because of his back, so driving to a detail isn't possible. Needs his Cobra cleaned up.

Also, detailers in Pittsburgh suck ass so when my wife comes to town soon I'm thinking of having someone come to her and do our filthy neglected minivan.

Who's doing mobile details nowadays? Weekdays and weekends.

  2. Wee more progress. Starting to hide the bling behind accessories. Some day I might take the brackets back off and have them powdercoated but I kept forgetting and now I just want to finish up. Power steering pump and A/C compressor on, and a few bits you can't see.

  3. Wee progress. 30# fuel injectors and Aeromotive AFPR in, spark plugs in, O2 sensors changed, headers bolted up to H pipe, headlight pigtails for one piece headlights soldered on, and got organized for starting the accessory systems. Going out of town for a week and a half :( so this is it for a bit.

  4. Welp, that's it. I lost the race....

You, too, can completely derelict your work duties to spend time on building race car. :D Sadly, I am traveling essentially every week for the next 6 weeks, so we'll see how much time I have left. Hence the push to get this done -- my clients are gonna get a pound of flesh out of me the next month or so, and I couldn't leave without getting that engine together.

    Damn that’s a lotta shiny...

Every time ya' come around my city...

Got a little more progress yesterday. Headers bolted up to the exhaust, GOD DAMN FUCKING oil dipstick FINALLY in which wasted nearly 2 fucking hours. Garage cleaned. Eibach sway bars in :D and some engine odds and ends in. Getting down to major systems now -- A/C, charging, cooling, etc.

  5. We had it set up with a 347 stroker, novi 2000 supercharger, and a shit ton of nitrous

Maybe next year... ;) Actually, once I get this built and running well I'll do gears and a roll bar next spring, then a blower.

  6. She is definitely becoming more race car lol. If memory serves me correctly, mine use to have a sweet spot around 13-14 degrees timing for what it's worth.

Yea, this is Dyno Brian's recommended starting point. Since he's gonna be tuning it. :D

  7. Got frisky this afternoon. Instead of, you know, getting paid to work I slacked off and did the valvetrain. :D Trick Flow 1.6 stud mount rockers all preloaded in.

Modeling my valve covers to protect the hotness until tomorrow...

  8. Finally making good progress. Steering is back together, broken bolt removed, front of the engine is back on, and the block is studded and heads are on. Ready to set up the valvetrain, either tonight or tomorrow morning.

  9. How often do you drive GT350s?

Guy down the way owns one, and a handful of Fox bodies and SN bodies. He borrows my truck from time to time so we trade off. Even let me put the car seat it once since he sees how clean I keep my truck.

  10. Small progress the last couple weeks. Nothing really picture worthy. :) Of course, work and children have kept me from getting this done faster than I want... may have bit off more than I should have for this stage of life, but I don't care, ha.

Fuel system w/ 340lph pump and wiring kit, and 3/8 SS lines is in. Just need to get the tank mounted back up when I have a second pair of hands.

Poly trans mount and alu driveshaft are in, transmission flushed and filled.

Stainless steel brake lines all on, brakes bled and flushed, ready to go!

Maximum Motorsports steering shaft is in, I need to finish re-hanging the steering rack -- prolly will do that today.

I did a bunch of corrosion cleanup in the engine bay, etc. and that's all painted and ready to go now.

Pretty much the only things left before I start on the engine is getting the steering rack re-mounted and that broken timing cover bolt removed. Once I'm done with those, I can get the engine built. Hopefully get some good progress done this week.
