  1. We kinda had a valentines plan thread, but I thought I'd get more specific. Who's cooking up a nice dinner tonight instead of eating out? What are you making? I'm doing a couple NY strips marinated in olive oil, fresh black pepper, and garlic. Sides are creamed spinach and jalapeño scalloped potatoes. For desert, molten chocolate lava cakes and Kahlua cookies and cream milk shakes. All from scratch.

    Would You Cheat?

Not in this or any other situation would I cheat. There is no situation on earth that I would cheat. To me, there is nothing more disrespectful, despicable, and terrible as cheating. My fiancée (wife in less than four months ) is the most important thing to me in the whole world, if she wasn't I wouldn't be marrying her. Marriage vows are not something that I take lightly; they're a commitment to a life with that person. Aside from any religious aspect of vows, they are a person’s word. I am a person of my word, and vows are the highest form of my word that I can give, they are unbreakable. My wife is my equal, and I will treat her with the same respect that I treat myself. Self respect is the highest form of respect that I hold for anyone or anything. I will not sell self respect out for anyone or anything. Without self respect I am nothing. If I didn't know that she felt the same way, I wouldn't be marrying her. Call me naive, tell me that things change and time can do serious damage, and I’ll agree with you – for a lot of people it’s true. But most people treat their vows like the many other promises and lip service they give every day which are broken out of personal convenience. Many people have lost their resolve to be honest, faithful, and committed – and not simply to a marriage – but to every aspect of their life. Call it laziness. Call it treason, to yourself, your partner, or to society as a whole. Call it whatever you want. Whatever happened to having good values and being of your word?

    Would You Cheat?

Absolutely not, without a doubt in my mind.
  4. "Wow, that man parties like a rock star. Maybe if he wasnt dressed like Richard Simmons with dangling balls and worn out socks, she would grab that 1970s remote and turn the tube off." Best comment.
  5. Getting pretty nasty out there this morning, but I still had no trouble getting in.
  6. Meh, I've got my TrailBlazer and time. I'll get where I'm going.
  7. Why not? You and I used to be friends. As it is though, I prolly won't be there. I can't shake this illness I've got.
  8. I know they've been going back and forth about if it'll be "free" money, or simply an advance, so they could have had old info.
  9. I got one of these promotions in my last Amazon order. Open an ING Direct online savings account (link it to your checking account), deposit $1 or more, and they give you $25. $25 for 5 minutes of work, it's that easy. I actually really like my savings account with them too. Getting about 4% interest. Got another one in a new order. It's not one of those refferal deals where I get anything out of it, I'm just passing it on. PM me for the link and code.
  10. I didn't wreck it. The lady who pulled out in front of me on Lane Avenue did.
  11. I had a 1996 Explorer, paid off and in great shape. I miss that truck.
  12. Funny story! Though I've had worse experiences on airlines that cost 100 times as much. I know it's a risk with Skybus, especially as they don't have the established "oops we fucked up" network of other airlines. But it's a risk worth managing - regular airfare would have cost us $800. The way I see it, they have had some issues as all airlines do and will, but they're probably still well near 100% flight completion and well into the 90's for on-time arrivals. That's good enough to manage the risk. Now, come the honeymoon, maybe I’ll be singing a different tune if something happens and we’re shelling out $2000 for airfare. But that’s the game, isn’t it?
  13. Those results ARE typical. They eat parts in stock form, let alone the modded trucks. I have a good friend who owns a performance shop for them, arguably the best performance shop and one of the original pioneers.
  14. Got airfare to/from Boston for the soon-to-be-misses and I for our honeymoon for $73, includes all taxes and fees. We'll have a lot more money to spend ON the honeymoon now, instead of just GETTING to the honeymoon! Thank you Skybus! Anyone else lock in some great $10 fares this morning?
