I was going to suggest Naptha as that is the best thing I've ever used to clean engine parts, but you mentioned it had to be seal/oring safe. So that's not an option for you then.

Interesting, thats the exact same state the one I was looking at was from. Only it was State Highway Patrol. Scott, for now, being my first handgun (definately not new to guns though) I'm going to stick with a used one. Maybe my 'second' hand gun will be new.

Thanks, that's the insight I needed.

Sounds like a plan then. You don't see any problems with carrying the 22 over the shorter 23 though do you?

I googled that. Nice looking gun. As far as "glock crazy" what do you mean? My intentions are to buy a used one to keep cost down. I have no intentions to modify one when I do buy. (though watching some full-auto converted glocks on youtube is bad ass) Eventually I'd like to own a hand gun for my wife and me as well. This will be my first so since I really have no experience I wont be going "crazy" until I decide it's a good shooter for me or not. Thanks for the input.

Holy shit, who seriously needs that though for a simple home theater system?

The G-22 and G-23 have been mentioned in here. But I'd like a little more insight if you guys don't mind. I'm looking to pick up either one for home/CC/target shooting. All I info I can find seem to point out the Glocks are a pretty unmatched in terms of repeatability and reliability. There are a few local places to me (out here in Utah) that have G-22 trade ins that are factory rebuilt. I haven't found a G-23 as of yet in this order. Cabela's however carries Highway Patrol issued and rebuilt G-22 or G-23's (pending on what their stock is) but at a slightly higher price tag. (guy says the do price match though) My question is what do you guys who have experience with this gun recommend for use as a Carry Conceal weapon? I've felt both, and personally to me it won't make a difference. But I haven't carried one long term to find out what hindrance's the longer G-22 *may* cause. It's either G-22 or G-23 for me. I don't want a sub-compact as they are too small for my hands. And I want the .40 cal, not a 9mm. So any G-17/19 talk is out of question Factory rebuilds for a G-22 are $399 with 2 clips. Everything else is $499 out here.

I see the j/k. And I'll agree with ya to an extent, but only if you *don't* know what you are looking for in a cable can you get a *crappy* one. But, it's also a digital signal. Not many ways to degrade that signal given you use proper equipment. This again goes back to the *knowing* what you are buying rule. You guys think 65" is huge, come down into my basement where I broadcast at 120"

Ebay is your friend when buying stuff like this. I just picked up a brand new 30ft HDMI to DVI cable for $20.

Teleporter? Maybe its the size of the boxes making a difference, but I had a lift kit shipped from that side of the country to my house in Utah from a private party and it cost me $135 to have all 5 boxes shipped. And that lift kit has to weigh atleast as much as all your turbo stuff.

What year you looking at? Do a search for pretty much the same topic started by me a few months ago. In there is a link to a saab forum. You'll learn pretty much everything you need to know. Cliffs though: After GM took over Saab lost its European finess and took on the cheap GM interior que. Saab has also been plaqued with electrical issues as well. The stock radio is a cluster fuck to try and change if you want something better. They cost quite a bit of money to mod as their engine managment systems are cutting edge and self check itself to death preventing any "cheap mods" you may perform from actually resulting in any gains. Simple tunes to gain a few HP cost upward of a grand. (again that info can be found on the Saab forums) As well, the high compression 2.0T is not suited for raising the boost an extreme amount more. These cars are however a fucking blast to drive. They wont be like a WRX though and be able to triple the stock TQ/HP with aftermarket parts cause there just isn't any, cheaply anyhow.

Finally got around to getting a quote. $1803 to ship my truck with them Everyone else wants around a grand to ship it... a couple places quoted ~$800.

That's what they are called, I found the routine on another forum from advice of another body builder. Yah, definitely feel like a tard when my wife gets done doing 80lbs on the bench and I hop on and struggle with 50 or 60 cause I'm at the end of my routine. Feels good as hell though.

Don't worry Thorne. I worked out for a while pretty regulary, doing 30 push ups, then I'd do 20, then 15 if I could. Then I started traveling/training for work, and doing any work out while living in hotel rooms is rough. I just got back into working out after gaining 30lbs since Senior year college and starting my job. I tried doing 20 pushups the other night, I made it to 10 and was whipped.

Cheapest I've paid was $.79/gallon around summer of 2000 when for some reason the gas companies were having some sort of price war and prices dropped BIG time. Can remember waiting in line for an hour at a station because all the farmers were filling up EVERYTHING they owned that could be drug in. But when I started driving in 2000 gas was at ~$1.15. Could fill up for ~$20 and go for almost two weeks back and forth to highschool.... and bitched about it then. Now it's $50 a week.

Ive been doing a routine lately where it absolutely tears me up, but seems to work really well. Say for instance say I was doing butterflies, my routine would consist of this: 60lbs X 10 reps (rest or wait for partner to do their reps) then 70lbs X 8 reps then 80lbs X 6 reps then 90lbs X 4 reps By this time it's becoming a struggle as the added weight and continual reps really get to me. Then I'll work it backwards for a cool down doing: 80 X 6, 70 X 8, and 60 X 10 again. It gets excruciating sometimes to the point where I can't finish all the reps for whatever set I'm doing. And look like a tool because I'm pussing out with Xlbs at the end, but damnit if my muscles aren't exploding at that point. That coupled with a pretty good diet have really shown improvements. It's a drastic change from just doing repitous work outs when after you're done you don't feel like you've really worked out. Doing this will kill you for the next couple hours energy wise, but it works awesome.

Anyone know anything about the 1989 Merkur XR4Ti Turbo's?
RangerTurbo replied to Bam's topic in Tech and Tips
Just stopping by to say thumbs up on the choice if you buy it. There are a few guys on here that can help ya out. (I included) V8Kilr: Oiling issues were taken care of long before this car was built, but good post for backround knowledge. The question isn't really what type of power can the engine make, it's at what point does stuff break and need upgraded. The rod bolts need to be upgraded if you are shooting for anything above 350HP. Stock block/crank can take a hell of a beating. Head flows like a turd but can be opened up quit nicely along with the intakes. Generally the turbo will start to get out of its efficiency range between 300-350HP as well, pending on setup. With the XR4Ti you are really looking at replacing the tranny and rear end with stronger pieces before you really run into issues with the engine. The 2.3T can make some nice power for a 4 banger for sure. -
Sounds like the Argentine Gift I recieved the other day. The lady had a kid who was addicted to crack, the local Drug Lord killed him because he was owed so much money and now she feared for her life. She was willing to pay me $1,000,000 to "marry" her so she could be a legal US resident and move here away from the Drug Lord. She only wanted me to send back $1000 of that money so she could buy her travel arrangements. I figured what the hell, I live in Utah now, I'll convert to Mormonism and take a second wife.... plus I'll be RICH here very shortly.

Had the plugs on my N/A 2.3 before the engine swap that were out about like those. Between the 8 plugs, there was a wide variation of gaps from .06 to ~.1 . Those plugs had 108,XXX miles on them too. Engine ran like a top.

Is there a separate site for FedEx to ship cars? I need to have my truck shipped to Utah and wanted to see if they still offered this service on their site, but no specific links other than "freight".

Simplest way to test this remove all uneccesary objects from question. Get a light bulb, run the switch parallel to it, and run it directly to ground. Keep the switch open and turn on the power. What happens? The bulb turns on, there is no other path to ground. Turn power off, close the switch and turn on power. What happens then? It's a short directly to ground (path of least resistance), the light will never under this circumstance come on, ever. Only chance would be if the parallel cable/wire directly to ground was acting as a bigger resistor than the bulb because of corrosion or loose connection etc. Same principal is being applied to the circuit with the three bulbs. You are correct in that the current will not exclusively travel down just one path. However, the bulb in question will not receive enough current to turn on or measure more than a few milli-amps itself.
