  1. that is why it's spewing then. http://www.ltdlx.org/albums/cobrarack/IMG_0901_Large.sized.jpg
  2. you can receive FAFSA benefits for online schooling?
  3. fords use a little teflon washer on those lines. You can get them from the dealer for a little over $1/each. Let them soak in some really hot water to loosen up then put it on and wait for it to cool.
  4. there are a few corvairs not far from here. Guy has tried to sell a couple before and now has a new out there
  5. Thank you. I got a bunch of electrical cleaner I plan to spray on the plug. Going to inspect the tank well for rust, etc. Fuel sock? Is this another name for the strainer?
  6. it doesn't cut out or anything like it should if it was clogged. When it runs it runs great down the road. I was expecting relays or something to be the problem but swapped those already. From my understanding you can take as many little 1-2 miles trips in it all day long with no problem at all. Idle always drops just a tad when it starts then picks back up so I assumed IAC, nope. Also, since it seems as if it's something getting too hot and needing time to cool off I had changed the coolant temp sensor. No change. No codes. The kicking the tank thing and jumpy fuel pressure just seemed odd to me.
  7. Is it common when a fuel pump starts going that smacking the tank could get a little life out of it?
  8. Thing doesn't want to start after longer trips(30+ miles) and after trying smaller things like relays, etc I have determined the fuel pump is shot. Sister broke down in Lancaster and usually will have to wait for an hour or so before it will start up. I put a fuel pressure gauge on it today while it wouldn't start and at first got 0psi. Smacked the fuel tank a few times and it jumped to 20psi. Thought maybe I had the gauge on wrong or something so I took it off and retried. Still at 20psi with the key on. Smack the tank a few times harder and it jumped to 60psi but was bouncing back and forth really fast between 55-60psi. Tried to start it and it fired up and died instantly, which brought the pressure down to 45psi. Decided to see how long it would take for it to drop off and within 5 minutes or so it dropped 10psi. First time using a fuel pressure gauge but I am pretty sure this pump is toast, right? I tried playing with the wires also thinking maybe it was a short but it had no affect on it whatsoever. Only thing that does it hitting the tank.
  9. I'd hope not. I enjoy Cr and haven't created any trouble at all. It's not a personal jib at her. Just saying it seems that way from where I sit.
  10. Don't mean to stir shit or anything. I don't know anthony nor do I know her. I have only met a few people on the board and while most of my activity here is reading, it seems like that's when it started to go. I know of all the legal issues and such, and understand Anthony's point but still....
  11. This site has slowly been heading towards the shitter ever since Anthony's old lady became a member and was given powers. Real talk
  12. Sounds like you might need some better grounds
  13. 90-93(90-94 if blazer/jimmy) are the good ones. The 2.8 in my 91 has quite a bit more pep than the 2.2. Seen this a couple days ago and you'd be able to keep some cash with it. Just sucks about the floors but looks cooler than shit. http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/2455632139.html
  14. 1st gen s10 with the 2.8? Good gas mileage and 4x4 doesn't usually complete but the 2.8's aren't too bad at all. Not as gutless as the second gens with the 2.2
  15. No. you should be fine
  16. When we done it we just shut the water off and drained the tank to just under the relief valve and went at it. Not sure if that's the correct way or not.
  17. yea, just head to lowes and pick one up, along with some teflon
  18. hold something under it and open the valve and shut it a couple of times. See if it stops You can buy just the relief valve by the way.
  19. Decided to just swap out the fuel pump relay with the starter relay. Removed the EGR valve and soaked it in a can of seafoam. The little tube on the side of it was completely clogged with carbon. The top little needle valve wasn't. Put it together and no codes at all. Took it for a few mile cruise and it seems to be running good. Still no codes.
  20. After about an hour trip think started falling on its face when the pedal was pushed. I was able to feather it for about 50 yards or so then it died completely. Will start up, but either idles for a few seconds then dies or idles rough as shit for a little longer then dies. Giving it gas kills it but sometimes you can rev it a bit but it sounds very bogged down. Performed the key dance and came back with two codes. Code 32 = EGR valve(been on for a couple of weeks and goes off randomly) Code 42 = Fuel pump relay control ckt, Auto shutdown relay control ckt, No ASD relay output voltage at PCM, Fuel level sending unit volts out of range, Fuel level unit No change over miles So either the fuel pump relay or the pump itself, right? If it were the relay, wouldn't it either stay running or die instantly? I'm thinking it has to be the pump but until I get a pressure gauge, I'm playing the guessing game. Is there any way at all the egr valve could cause this? edit-It just got home and it's running good, wtf
  21. drove past one of these the other day. Pretty good food?
